BOYCOTT MACY'S!!!!!

I believe we need a large, public, and effective Boycott on Macy's, Marshall Field's, and any other stores Macy's owns. Let's send our money elsewhere.

After all of the gay bashing this week by the GOP, this is the last FUCKING straw. I am mad as fucking hell.

1. Hell, I can't aford to shop there anyway.

I must admit, when I first read this story this afternoon, the headline was Macy's pull's gay maniquins from display, or something like that. I had to click on the link and read the story because I couldn't imagine how you can have a gay maniquin.

2. So basically they had a display in support of gay pride

they often support pro gay causes. Someone complained and they pulled the mannequin and now you want to boycott. Seems a tad extreme dont you think? In their statement they reaffirmed their commitment to diversity. The whole thing is just a bit overblown don't you think?

3. They knuckled under to the Christian Right.

That is the issue.

6. So a corporation that removes a mannequin

in response to a complaint is worthy of a boycott? Better boycott every single corporation in America. If they started firing gays, not providing partner benefits, harassing gays, etc than sure but a knee-jerk reacion to a knee-jerk reaction isn't the way to win support.

you catch more flies with honey as they say. You don't change anyones mind by screaming in their faces that their cowardly fascists. I'm surprised people haven't figured out that people dig in their heals, and go to great extents to defend their actions. Nothing pisses me off more when I'm walking down the street and some protestor is out doing their thing and stops me to tell me some information and I'm in a hurry so I say I don't have the time, and suddenely am berated for being an "evil racist fascist asshole"... gee now I'm really interest in whatever the hell it was the protestor was talking about, she sure has me on her side...

between boycotting Macy's and boycotting Wal-Mart, where else do you suggest I buy my socks and toiletries?

7. the only place i boycott is walmart...and starbuck's.

but starbuck's doesn't really count, because i just detest coffee in general.

as for macy's/marshall field's- i don't shop there often anyway, but i'm not going to stop over this issue. it's a great place to get quality products, and i like to keep my options open.
