This guy doesn't look like he was even in a decent fist fight.

Look at the Abu Ghraib photos... Those guys were beat to shit.

2 FIVE HUNDRED pound bombs and this guy is still in suitable shape for that framed portrait?

You gotta be kidding me!

1. Who ever said the bombs hit him?
AP - 1 minute ago
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, whose bloody campaign of beheadings and suicide bombings made him the most-wanted terrorist in Iraq, was killed when U.S. warplanes dropped 500-pound bombs on his isolated safe house, officials said Thursday. His death was a long-sought victory in the war in Iraq.

If you drop a couple of five hundred pound bombs close enough
To kill somebody, it's going to leave a mark. Several of them as a matter of fact, blood, bruising, lacerations, etc. Even if it didn't hit him directly, the body would take damage from shrapnel, walls collapsing, debris being blown up, etc.

One cannot go through such an experience and come out virtually unscathed.

The U.S. military is conducting a propaganda campaign to magnify the role of the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, according to internal military documents and officers familiar with the program. The effort has raised his profile in a way that some military intelligence officials believe may have overstated his importance and helped the Bush administration tie the war to the organization responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

5. Yes, that's right
But the bomb that does kill via concussive force is generally located much further away from the victim. Apparently these two(if we can believe the reports) came down right on top of the house. That is going to leave many, many marks:shrug:

4. Geez!
Al-Zarqawi has lost dozens of legs, uncountable arms, been sliced, diced, and sauteed, all with no apparent ill effects. A 500 lb. bomb wouldn't even muss his hair.

Iraqi Insurgents FIRED Zarqawi In APRIL For Incompetence
Making a big deal out of the death of a guy the Iraqi insurgents fired in April for incompetence:

Zarqawi 'sacked for mistakes'
Sunday 02 April 2006

Zarqawi is said to have made many political mistakes

Iraq's resistance has replaced Abu Musab al-Zarqawi as political head of the rebels, the son of Osama bin Laden's mentor has said in Jordan.

Hudayf Azzam, 35, who claims close contacts with the fighters, said on Sunday: "The Iraqi resistance's high command asked Zarqawi to give up his political role and replaced him with an Iraqi, because of several mistakes he made.

"Zarqawi's role has been limited to military action. Zarqawi bowed to the orders two weeks ago and was replaced by Iraqi national Abdullah bin Rashed al-Baghdadi."

Based on a quick skimming of the articles, it's not clear how reliable the reports are. The fact that the Christian Science Monitor website wrote the title as a question indicates that they are not convinced. Still, it is an interesting story, if true...

10. That's just how strong Al-Zarqawi was...
He prolly ate the first bomb and spit it out (see left bruise on face). The only thing that really killed him was the impact from the second bomb, whcich sent him up in the air 20,000 feet and he was STILL able to glide and land in his bed...cripes, even Superman couldn't have taken the blow from a second bomb.

If the bombs hit him directly, his body would be vaporized.
