A new low for Glen Beck...

I was listening to this in the car. Maybe someone can tell me that this was all an auditory hallucination.

I heard Beck celebrating the death of Al Zarkawi with a giant cake, on the New York City streets. He had one of his co-workers with the cake, in public--handing out pieces to passers-by. Beck was in the studio. The cake had a "chalk outline" of a man frosted on it.

They were cutting the cake and offering pieces--live. When it came time to cut the cake, Beck asked his co-worker to cut the head off of the cake, "in honor of Nick Berg."

Beck was guffawing and yucking it up--and cajoling his co-worker to do this. He refused. A young woman walked by and Beck asked to speak to her. Beck asked the young woman if she would "cut the neck of the cake, and cut the head off, in honor of Nick Berg." The young woman said, "Okay!" I don't think she knew who Nick Berg was.

Beck then got his co-worker back on the line and he said, "Even a girl would do it! You wimp!"

I turned it off at that point.

I still can't believe what I heard.

He was reading excerpts from some speech by some black leader, and he read it in the most outrageous minstrel voice. I've never listened to him again. Sad to hear he's still on the radio. Frankly, I'm sad to hear he's still alive.

the scroll on the bottom of the screen read "Bush lauds the death of Zarqoui' etc.
I am no apologist for the people in the Middle East who combat US foreign policy via terrorism or war. Nonetheless it just sounds wrong to put it in those terms.........

17. I think the point of the OP

was that they were making fun of Nick Bern having been beheaded. Asking to take off the head part of a cake to me is disrespectful of Nick, and has nothing to do with Zarkawi.

18. I didn't hear it but...

...the way you descibe it it sounds as though he thought he was doing Nick Berg a favor, a kind of stupid "eye for an eye" thing--but with cake. My opinion of this guy is about as low as it can get but I think he was going for some kind of symbolic gesture that he thought Nick Berg might have appreciated. Just sounds tacky to me. I wouldn't expect anything more from this guy.
