Everytime someone like Berg speaks the truth... |
|
seems that there is always there to find something wrong with it, when I say someone I mean a democrat. I just heard someone on ed shultz saying he should not be saying what he is saying and we should play their game. This is the problem with dems everyone is afraid and but meanwhile ugly ass ann coulter, hookchin hannity and o'lielly say all kind of terrible things and demean people and stifle opinions everyday. I think dems are so afraid of being called unpatriotic that they aren't any damn good except a few/

2. We can choose to take inspiration and direction from Berg |
|
Screw the rest. Frankly, Ed didn't seem to know what to do with Berg, either. This is where the rubber meets the road in my book.

3. The biggest difference between republicans and a LOT of dems... |
|
... is just the letter next to their name...
There are threads here on DU, for example, full of DUers who are MORE THAN HAPPY to do all of the sleazy-cheating stuff republicans do, just to win.
The fear in the weak is palpable - and leads to an abandonment of principles. Which in turn leads to leadership just like the republicans.

7. Michael Berg is a pacifist... |
|
Many people, such as myself, don't exactly take the opinion of pacifists particularly seriously when it comes to national security discussions.
He has a right to say whatever he wants regarding his son's death, but others also have the right to not pay particular attention to pacifists when we are talking about defense/foreign policy related issues.
I'm sorry, but pacifism simply isn't a serious position to have in the real world.
So no, I don't put too terribly much stock in most of what Michael Berg says at this point.
Sorry if that bothers you.

8. I don't care if it bothers you ... |
|
it doesn't bother me pacifist or not he is speaking the truth on a lot of his points. No. I don't agree with his points on pacifism but I do agree that what is the difference in havin bush killing Iraqis and sadaam hussein and other points I agree with him. My point was not about pacifism my point is about democrats speaking up!

Mr. Berg to people such as Donald Rumsfeld, it is apparent that there are various, distinct levels of consciousness. People like Mr. Rumsfeld are not able, in their present state of being, to understand what Mr. Berg is talking about.
I'm reminded of a good friend's wife. She is very much a republican. She is also a Christian. During some of our debates, I have pointed out to her that her political and social belief system is anything but in line with Jesus's example and teachings. She once blurted out, "Jesus was too naive for the real world."
One does not have to go to the republican well to find people who think that people like Jesus, Gandhi, King, the Berrigans, or Mr. Berg belong in a Naivete Story, not in the "real world." When we examine their core beliefs, we almost always find they reach this conclusion based upon fear.
Fear, which is at the root of hatred, is what keeps many individuals at a lower level of consciousness than the Mr. Bergs of the real world.

11. Berg is speaking the Truth about the State |
|
It is sad that anyone would bash a human being who has suffered. The problem is those is power, whether they have a {D} or an {R} or a {Swaistika} behind their name are agents of the State. And Bush and Iraq are just culmination of the Rise of Nationalism, Industrialism and the Federal Government.
Bush is merely replaying the same script that Woodrow Wilson used...

12. Right-wingers don't waste their ammo aiming to the right.. |
|
They keep their guns aimed to the left ... so diligently that they don't give a shit if they hit one of their own wandering too far afield. The "Dems" just don't comprehend this. The (so-called) moderate "Dems" constantly aim to the left. As far as I'm concerned, anyone firing to the left is the "enemy." The closer they are, the more urgently they have to be taken out!
