1. from what the media has shown us....
I would guess the guy on the left is al-Zarqawi. The guys on the right *could* be him if you were to tell me the image has been scaled horizontally.....

what are you proposing to say here?

5. see post #3
al-Zarqawi is dead in thought... in print... in mass multi-media... the image is made, the minds have been set to believe the garble and the next set of characters are set to take the stage... and the truth as has been again and again washed with cunsumer idealogy and faded into last year's demons... wow, that terrorist is so old school... check out this one in Iran! just make a new one and it goes on and on ... *"we're going to get those killers"... each one we make... and our politicians will benefit in poll numbers ...

6. if you want to believe they are, then they are...
How did his hair line fill in... plugs? Do those muslims men preen their eyebrows? I know it is a new male fashion here in the States, but I do not believe that style from this empire has reached the desert sands of Iraq. (unless some reservists have passed along the 'in style' thing along to those fashion conscious terrorists)...

7. I think they're the same...
regarding the apparent mono-brow, the lighting is different. But the main thing is lack of any motive for creating a fake photo of dead Zarqawi if he were still alive. Why would somebody do that? All Zarqawi would have to do is make a new video to blow the whole "operation". The potentially fake Osama video released by the CIA had a real motive of making Osama come forth and defend his innocence plus incriminating him, which makes sense, but a fake dead picture of a living man makes no sense whatsoever.

3. Zarqawi is dead, the Zarqawi that mattered anyway...
Who cares about the human? It's the image that's dead. Zarqawi the "Terrorist Mastermind" is dead and who really knows if he even existed in the first place. He may have been a "Wag the Dog" for all I know but that guy is definitely dead. The human? Well, no one cared about him anyway so his existence is irrelevant. It's sort of like how 7 of the 19 september 11th hijackers are still alive, yet that doesn't seem to change the fact that they're still "Suicide Terrorists". If this story is bullshit, the human Zarqawi could appear live on American Idol and Americans still wouldn't believe he was alive. We live in a very odd world.

8. Zarqawi was real
and Zarqawi is dead. He was a blood-drenched thug that is no more. He's not important, despite what the transnational corporate media outlets say about him. He killed a lot of people and he was killed by the combined efforts of a lot of people. Al-Qaeda is but barely significant in Iraq; the real insurgent power lies in the hands of the native insurgency which is under the control of ex-military officers who were foolishly dismissed by the idiot Bremmer because they were "Baathists," as if there was any other way to participate in society and provide for a family under Saddam. The coming weeks will confirm this. Fuck Zarqawi. The murderer of innocents - not the least of whom were our citizens who were bound, gagged and beheaded in the most cruel fashion by this mongrel - has met justice; and a justice which cannot be but suitably accepted - regardless of it's means. A previous poster was spot on; such a claim would never had been made when all Zarqawi would have to have done would be to show his face on tape. Not even a government that has fucked up as repeatedly as the Bush regime - stupid as it has proven to be in all other areas - could be so stupid. However, this is the House of Bush...
