Stop Loss Travesties
My wife recently renewed a friendship with a woman who's son has completed his tour of Iraq, and came back safe and healthy. She told us of a friend he served with who got shot in the butt and got fixed up in the hospital and got sent back.

THEN, he was on patrol or something and suffered thought a IED attack. He had one ear drum blown out and had to get his jaw and face reconstructed. He was sent with State Side or Germany to get fixed up.

He's on leave for a few more months and then the BASTARDS ARE SENDING HIM BACK YET AGAIN! After all this poor kid lost and risked and went through he's gotta go back AGAIN!

He's apolitical and just wants to serve his country and doesn't question this whole travesty, but what our government is doing to this patriotic kid is a FUCKING WAR CRIME!!

Do they send back blinded limbless people in wheelchairs or paralyzed from the neck down too?

This is despicable and shows our government is just using these poor young souls for WAR FODDER. How much of this kid will be left after our Country uses up everything he has to give?

1. This is happening more than people realize
If you take a bullet, and it isn't too bad, they pull it out, patch you up, give you light duty for a few days, and if it isn't infected and is healing well, back out you go!

2. They're talking about sending the legless back
with prosthetic limbs to ride shotgun or just drive the vehicles.

We have to boot these men out of government any way we can, and keep them out. Forever.

3. By doing this, the repukes don't have to send their own
I think the coultercreature said something to the effect that poor people go into the military because they have no other options, and if they get killed, so what? Somebody has to die. (Wish I had the actual quote-I think it would be an effective one to use with military families whose members might still support the neocons). That aside, don't forget the soldiers who are suffering mentally with PTSD, who are not given pyschiatric help, just a few pills, and who are sent back over. I know of a case locally where the mother is beside herself-she just doesn't know what might happen to her son, and she's very worried he'll crack under the strain of combat.

4. And it's just the start of the rape!
When he does come home to stay (hopefully alive), he will then find his veterans benefits have been eliminated so the wealthiest people in the nation (whose kids stayed safe and snug at home) can get a big enough tax refund to upgrade their yacht.
Priorities, man. Priorities.:sarcasm:

5. We always blame the government
Why blame the government, as long as he doesn't question this fiasco, as long as he really believes that he's serving his country, as long as he wears rose colored glasses, then the government isn't the only one at fault.

Let's not forget that resposibility does not only belong to the government alone, the individual is responsible as well. I mean how many times do you have to be slapped in the face to realize that it's not a good feeling, and the next time you see that hand coming you try to stop it?

That's what this is about, if you continue to allow yourself to be abused and you won't listen to those around you that see the abuse, or they don't tell you about it, then you are in a world of hurt.

Blind loyalty still makes you blind.

They have sent back some that have lost limbs, but it was at their own request. He's not really serving the country, he's serving this administration and the man who thinks he's King.

6. There's a story about a plane full of soliders about to be flown home
a couple of officers boarded the plane, read off the names of three soliders, and left the plane with them!
