Bush declares war on Iran due to "acts of war" at Gitmo....
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/5068606.stm

in some other America from years past, my headline would have been seen as ludicrous. In Bush's Amerika, it's all too familiar syntax.

1. How sick are these fascists
Really? Their illegal prison is further exposed so it's an act of war?

3. Lemme get this right...
We have to invade Iran and kill them all to keep them from killing themselves at Gitmo.

Ahh, yep. Makes sense to me.

Let's Roll, dammit! We have lives to snuff out save!

5. I don't know who will believe this. Good to show the outrageousness
Seriously, every time they come up with something like this, they lose support. Commiting suicide because you are imprisoned is an "asymetric" act of war? pshaw.
"The camp commander said the two Saudis and a Yemeni were "committed" and had killed themselves in "an act of asymmetric warfare waged against us"."

8. Whenever I think I've heard the most insane thiings from this cabal ...
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 07:07 PM by TahitiNut
... they say something that, in a sane world, would bring the men running with nets and straitjackets.

Just think: All those Iraqis that had the gall to die under American bombs were "waging asymmetical war" against us!
(Just wait 'till our various police departments and prisons latch onto this principle!)

Rear Admiral Harry Harris should be locked in a rubber room immediately. He's a disgrace to the Navy, this country, and humanity in general.

11. To RumsCheney this IS an "act of war"...against their wars.
Europe is horrified.

What if the UK goes for a quickie "Vote of Confidence" and executes "regime change" removing Tony Blair for someone who'll immediately pull British troops out of the Middle East?

That, no matter that Gitmo drove these men to suicide, our Gitmo, is causing furor in Europe and the UK.

That threatens RumsCheney.

That (in their self-serving sick philosophy) is an "act of war"...against their wars...against them.

Though perhaps not as ridiculous as the Bush statement.

15. Typical
Typical that the army - detaining hundreds of people without charge, accusation, access to family or even counsel (for most of them) - ostensibly because they have absolutely nothing to charge them with, actually has the wild audacity to call the suicides that are the only recourse out of this hell as an act of war on the U.S. Is this the twilight zone? I mean I know we are dealing with sick, fascist assholes here, but is every last shred of reality to be discarded vis-a-vis this madness? Jeeeez.
