Krakatoa: Volcano of Destruction @ 9 eastern tonite
I'm just fascinated with the enormous power of that volcano.

It will be on The Discovery Channel:

The 1883 eruption of Krakatau in Indonesia creates widespread devastation; scientists express fears of another cataclysm of that magnitude in the region.

8. Wonderful book on Krakatoa
by Simon Winchester called Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded, if you can get your hands on it. He is one of my favorite authors and it is one of his best books.

IIRC, Krakatoa threw five cubic miles of crap into the air.

Next time you go to the museum, look at the skies in paintings of the late 1880s.

10. Somehow I don't think the insurance industry is prospering in Indonesia...
Tsunamis, Earthquakes, and someday volcanic explosions? Lovely place to settle down.
