3. re: until every drop of oil has been drained from thier country
Or until our military is pushed to it's limit. I don't think Bush's war would survive a draft for any length of time. Unless he DOES manage to push this country into fascism first. Oh yeah, this is my first post, so hey everyone! I'm not digging the mandatory subjects... :-(

If we're in Iraq for that long, then I'll make sure my kids are not raised in the US. Rather, I'll make sure they are raised as citizens of a country that hasn't degenerated into a rotating dictatorship where you have different presidents every 4 or 8 years but the same masters each time.

There's a reason why so many people no longer wanted to become Roman soldiers towards the end of the Empire: They didn't want to die for somebody else's power and money!

5. I don't think there will be much oil left by the time my grandchildren
come along, if they ever do - no kids yet and I'd adopt instead of having biological children. I'm so unsure about the state of the world 40 years from now I simply cannot take responsibility for bringing a person into this world who will have to deal with this mess.

7. I don't want my children fighting this, much less my grandchildren.

My babies will NOT participate in their war. Let them send their own precious children. Mine are not for sale.

8. All signs point to a 20 year occupation in Iraq alone.
We need to stop these men.

11. Highly doubtful.
In 20 years, either we've moved beyond an oil based world economy or we're so screwed that trying to occupy Iraq will be the least of our problems. Pronouncements like this don't take the vagaries of the future into account. They're simply pointless.
