To All DUers
If you think we're disappointed and upset now, remember November 2004 and pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off and start all over again. All energy must be directed on the mid-term elections. Karma will only come for Bushco when the Dems take back both houses.

Get up Stand up, stand up for your rights!!!

1. Seconded!
Last night my hubby and I volunteered to GOTV and for other committees for 2006. Ready to kick butt with a big smile on my Democratic face.

2. Couldn't agree more . . .
A few less-than-disastrous days for a mendacious and incompetent administration don't add up to a crushing defeat for progressives. They're still the same wicked putzes they were last week and just as vulnerable to the truth.

For that matter, reporting on Iraq will quickly veer back to the more realistic view we've seen over the last few months, reiterating the foolishness of this disastrous war.

If the problems were so simple as to be fixed by a few days of good PR, there wouldn't be much for us to do.

3. Correct
There have been several successes for progressives. Importantly MSM is now discussing those voting machines. Dems must focus on the elections - nothing else matters right now.

11. In less than five months
we will either be ready to correct six years of hell or bawling like babies. Time for action. Unity is strength. Sorry for the cliches but we not have time to be fighting among ourselves.

14. Burnin album
http://www.bobmarley.com/albums/burnin/

This is the cutting call-to-arms that kicked off the Burnin' album. Seldom has the Rasta ethos been spelled out with greater sagacity, yet the theme transcends all religious and political boundaries. Amnesty International uses this song as their anthem.
---------------------------------------
Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right (3 times)
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight

Preacher man don't tell me heaven is under the earth
I know you don't know what life is really worth
Is not all that glitters in gold and
Half the story has never been told
So now you see the light, aay
Stand up for your right. Come on

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
(Repeat)

Most people think great God will come from the sky
Take away ev'rything, and make ev'rybody feel high
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth
And now you see the light
You stand up for your right, yeah!

Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up. Life is your right
So we can't give up the fight
Stand up for your right, Lord, Lord
Get Up, Stand Up. Keep on struggling on
Don't give up the fight

We're sick and tired of your ism and skism game
Die and go to heaven in Jesus' name, Lord
We know when we understand
Almighty God is a living man
You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
So now we see the light
We gonna stand up for our right

So you'd better get up, stand up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight
Get Up, Stand Up, stand up for your right
Get Up, Stand Up, don't give up the fight.

by Peter Tosh, also. He wrote most of the lyrics, and Bob the music. It is a great song.
