Poll question: Do you think Gore will run in 2008? |
|
After seeing him on several television programs promoting his movie he says he "doesn't expect" to run and it would seem has ruled it out, but I'm not convinced. "Doesn't expect" is often a code word for maybe. Senator Kennedy in 1978 and 1979 said in many interviews that he "didn't expect" to challenge President Carter for the 1980 Democratic nomination but did. Then there was Mrs. Gore's statement on GMA saying that if Al did run she would support him and thinks he would be a wonderful president.
Still Al Gore has been consistent in saying that he is crusading for a cause not a candidacy and I consider him to be very dedicated to that cause and the fact that he wants it to be a bi-partisan cause and if he does run it would take back from that.
Do you think that Gore still potentially will be a candidate in 2008?

2. I would say he's more likely to run than not, at this point... |
|
despite his protestations, all signs point to "yes"

3. I think he's hoping for a sort of "draft Gore" campaign, honestly. |
|
And that's a smart approach. There's no reason to put himself up there as a target at this point. Everyone's expecting Hillary Clinton to run, so let her take the slings and arrows until primary season. Maybe the DLC can actually serve a purpose for once.

4. I certainly want him too. |
|
But watching him last night, there's part of me that thought that he'd never be president. He's to good. The forces that be would never allow someone like him to be president.

although I think he's the right person for the times. But I don't think he will run because the anti-environmentalists will raise a smear campaign against him before he even gets started.

I was at the Town Hall awhile back and he seemed sincere about not running. I wish it wasn't so but maybe he can do better doing what he is doing.

10. No. He Already Knows He Would Never Be Allowed to be President |
|
He already won once, and was not allowed to serve. Gore knows what the score is.
