GOP: Dems are angry. YES We are. We can't begin to match THEIR vitriole! |
|
This is me quoting something I myself wrote(below). BTW, Ann Coldheart, if you read this. It is OKAY to quote yourself without citing the source, but it is NOT okay to do the same with other people without their knowledge and permission.
Anyhow, we ARE angry. But we can't even come near the level of hatred and anger the GOP and their supporters have been directing towards us for decades.
WE say these things because they are true.
THEY say them to intentionally destroy people who disagree with them, to discredit beliefs they don't like. They don't hesitate to lie in the process.
THERE'S a huge difference.
"There has been a long term, organized assault on liberal Democrats and their beliefs coming primarily from 2 sources for decades. First there is the radical religious right, which has been used by the GOP. They themselves in concert with people like Karl Rove have attempted to demonize liberals.
You must recall the time decades ago before “Liberal” was a risky thing to proclaim oneself to be.
Second there are the neocons, those who signed on to the PNAC- Project for a New American Century. It began in the late 1990’s and the orginal document calls for the US to take advantage of its position as the singular super power of the world to extend its dominion all over the globe.
These same groups have attacked and labeled the main stream media as the “liberal media”, thus successfully bullying the media into a more conservative and unquestioning position in regard to the powers that be in the last 6 years.
There is no liberal main stream media. Those of us who are liberal must seek out Air America Radio and Amy Goodman from Democracy Now to hear anything remotely objective, to say nothing of liberal."

6. my husband and i argue about this. he says i refuse to listen |
|
that i make ad hominem arguments, dwelling on aspects that are not an issue.
i say to him, THEY DO IT. how in hell can you fight them in you play by the marquis of queensbury rules when they are hitting you with brass knuckles?
he thinks it's selling your soul. to me, if the choice is between defending myself against "swiftboaters" any way possible, or being "polite" while someone is accusing you of all kinds of heinous acts, damn right i'll fight back.
you've got the answer - if the truth is on your side, you have to do what you feel is necessary

12. I couldn't agree more. I so wish I'd wake up to discover that |
|
all the stuff that's been going on is just a nightmare and not real.
The current administration and cohorts have crossed the line countless times that we've heard of.
Can we even begin to imagine what is still under the radar?

14. Presently I am just disgusted |
|
I am disgusted with all of it.
But I can say this: Repukes got all they could ever hope for. They control everything, from our fuel supplies to the air we breathe to our three branches of government.
They have waged war and made so much money, it is sick. They have killed babies in our name. For Money.
They have allowed US citizens to die in the WTC and our Gulf Coast region due to incompetence and arrogance. It breaks my heart, the number of Americans lost since ** took office.
They have installed Alito and Roberts, men who hate America, to interpret our laws. These men have just said that our homes are no longer our castles. We are now no more than serfs at the whims of the prison industrial complex.
So they operate on this belief that they must kill or be killed, and there really isn't anyone to stop them. They do whatever they please.
I do not believe in any god because I see what belief in god turned these men into. But I wish there was a greater power. I wish it would do something.
Instead, I'm just backing off from the whole mess.
Democrats like Lincoln Davis are my lot in life. He cares so little for us poor citizens, it's sinful. He kisses Repuke ass every chance he gets. What can I do but cry over what my nation has become?
I wish i could call up the ghost of every true patriot, that they could set this country straight again. It has beciome an ignorant, hate-filled land of Fascism.
So I'm just done with it.
I used to be angry. Now i just feel sick in the pit of my stomach all day, every day.
I miss America.

15. I understand your feelings. |

I move in and out of anger vs exasperation and disgust and disbelief over and over.

16. To see who is angry just |
|
watch CSpan's Washington Journal and listen to the different callers. The Right wins hands down. The vitriol they bring is viscious and has little to do with reality. Theyve been listening to hate radio and have become hateful by-products of that media.

17. This is so true. But still the rover is and will continue to |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 12:54 PM by Humor_In_Cuneiform
attempt to say that the left is more hateful, there's a headline over at Raw Story right now that says "Rove: Right use Internet to 'broaden our appeal;' Left use Web as way to 'mobilize hate and anger' - 14 hours ago"
Most of us don't fall into the trap anymore, we don't make nice cause of stupid statements like that.
We need to speak up so people who are not as clear about it as we are will have an alternative perspective to believe that reflects reality.

18. I am somehow made mindful of the Richard Nixon quote |
|
"No one knows how to hate like Barbera Bush." And if you look at the Republican party platform of flag protectionism in the face of the abyss that is Iraq, you must conclude that in the decades since Watergate, her children surpassed her.
Rove is the mentor that every sociopath needs-- an amoral one.
Lucky for little lord wreck-a-bike that mummy bought him such a clever tutor. But somehow, I do not think that November will be as easy to fix as 2004. Robt. Kennedy Jr. is poised with a very large wrench indeed over the rapidly whirring GOP election fraud machine.
