After years of exploiting the NYC 911 attacks, Chertoff won't allow NYers |
|
letters/faxes/emails to be received by the HLS dept - in response to drastic cutting of emergency preparedness funds... because he fears it would be a security risk (to listen to the people he is charged to keep safe?) WTF is wrong with this story?
The HLS can't screen letters/emails/faxes for anthrax or other things? Does that mean that the HLS dept doesn't receive any mail/email/faxes (except those recieving thank yous from favored contractors who received fat juicy HLS contracts) - because any piece of correspondance could be "a security threat". So - do they operate by communicating to the outside world in... smoke signals? Morse code?
Can the handling of the story by Chertoff get more absurd?

1. get Shirlington limo to deliver them, they have a contract |
|
With Homeland Security, I am sure they were vetted thoroughly before the 23 mil contract for the 8 limo company went through.

3. Now that would be a great stunt |
|
hire some limos - place placards with Shirlington on them - and pack em with all the NYC letters to Chertoff. Deliver them the HLS headquarters and just leave the limos sitting there - or if they have to move keep driving around and around the block - until some official of HLS signs for the letters. Now that would be some interesting performance art.

2. Biggest threat: We the people. As Scalia said: |

5. So if a terra-ist sends a threat letter to Chertoff |
|
he won't get it or read it. Or an informer tries to inform somebody, the letter will not get read. Makes sense to someone.

is that they don't even bother to try anymore, their excuses aren't even up to "dog ate my homework" standards. With the ridiculous media and rollover Congress doing their bit in the charade, they feel free to insult us with impunity.

It's fascism, not creeping, but already in our government. In a democracy, the government is suppose to work for the people.
