1. Wait--a recession was starting when Bush took over?
I could have sworn I heard that all the years Bush has been in office have been years of phenomenal growth for our strong economy.

8. Oh, no, no, no,no, no....The "recession" talk started about a year before
the 2004 election. IMO, it was because people were praising the fact that Clinton left the nation in good shape financially, so the GOPs had to have an excuse, alongside 9/11, to place the blame for an unstable economy for the middle class, on someone other than Bush.

I remember that that was when I first started hearing the "the country was entering a recession at the end of Clinton's term. Clinton handed over a troubled economy when he left office."

I remember that the GOPs managed to just savagely shred all truths about just how good the economy had been under Clinton. I was one of those who was furious that none of our Dem leaders stood up and called this story a lie. To me, this was the start of our Dem leaders in DC just letting the Repubs piss in their faces without showing even the least bit of self-respect or defense of the success of the party in the 90s..

12. And, It's A Complete Falsehood
Even the conventionalists would not have said that. I know i have very little good to say about "conventional wisdom" in the econ community, but i can tell you that only partisan hacks said ANYTHING negative about the state of the economy in 2000. Nobody who knows a lick about economics, and especially those who actually take an analytical view of macroeconomics, thought there was a thing wrong with the economy in 2000.

15. Of course it was a LIE! What I was pointing out was that to my
recollection, this LIE was at the start of what we would see grow into what is now a system of lies coming from the GOPs.

The problem is/was the gullible fans of such LIE CARRIERS as Fox News, Limbaugh, O'Reilly and Hannity and their ilk. The point being that it didn't matter if only a few "partisan hacks" spoke negatively about the economy. Their comments were taken as talking points by the radio garbage mouths and spouted out to their thousands of adoring, believing listeners who could then blame their own failing economic status on the Clinton Administration and the Democrats instead of placing the blame on BushCo and the FRepublicans where it belonged.

2. Hey what are they smoking?
I thought the taliban were destroyed in 2001? What you mean theres people that don't think GW was appointed by god? Working together means give and take and not agreeing with one side doesn't it? What does that mean Carter inherited the bad economy from Nixon and Ford? Anyone want a tall glass of kool aid now?

7. I just turned on WJ and was shocked
not really, its the same old puke bs, boo hoo poor GW he's failing again and we are running out of spins, sound bites and talking points, so lets bring up what an evil person Clinton was, after all he's the one who what? Signed the NAFTA bill with provisions that before NAFTA could start Mexico and the rest of south american wages had to be as close to americas which GW decided to enact without those provisions? Funny stuff, the buck stops here every second tuesday of each and every week of the month.

4. If bush* is so determined to get rid of the Taliban
than why hasn't he caught Bin Laden?

If bush* disapproves of all the hate than why does he promote people like Ann and Rush? Or is it just the hate directed at him he dislikes? It's ok to hate anyone else just don't pick on poor little me.

If he wanted citizens and congress to work together then why does he promote such partisan bickering through the likes of Ann, Rush, KKKarl and Dick?

So if we had a recession than the economy isn't the wonderful glorious creation he has been advertising.

Typical manic behavior project your faults onto someone/something else and deny, deny, deny.

13. Also, if Bush is so determined to get rid of the Taliban, why did
he take his eye off Afghanistan and concentrate on Iraq?

We also need to remember that Bush's idea of compromise is that he always gets his way.

6. There are plenty of jobs they are hiring at Disney World
Hotels are looking for people! I can go from my past career in engineering to being a hotel maid, think there will be much of a salary hit? I could get a whole $500 signing bonus...

14. From what I've heard, Disney is not the most pleasant of places
to work for. I do not speak from personal knowledge, but from talking with people who did work there.
The awful point is is that some employers KNOW that a sign on bonus of $500 probably won't even pay your rent/mortgage and pay for your food for one month...but they act like they are offering SO MUCH!

To work at Disney, Appearance seemed to play a major role: Men had to be clean-shaven totally, with hair cut in a certain length or style, depending on the type of hair. Women could not be heavy (I don't know what the poundage regulations were) and again haircuts had to fit company guidelines. Absolutely no jewelry. Also, no visible tatoos. To my way of thinking these requirements were not so bad, especially for a first job, or an emergency job when nothing else was available. I was told that pay was just above minimum wage.

In one case, a now deceased friend of mine who was an experienced NYC lighting designer, was hired at Disney as an electrician and his major job was replacing light bulbs at great heights from a cherry picker. What angered him was that even though he did not come into contact with the guests at the park, he was still required to follow the above dress code requirements. The thing that made him most angry was that he was made to remove the small earring in his ear. That really infuriated him. But he did it because he really needed the job at the time.

I say all of this, because BushCo claims that Americans don't want to do certain jobs. The msm does not address the fact that some employer demands are basically against the American ideal of personal freedom. And the pay offered for some of these jobs is beyond ridiculous.

With corporatism taking over, soon employers will basically be able to tell their employees how to live their lives if those employees want to keep their jobs.
