What if you got to play God and change three things?
Last night, I saw "Bruce Almighty" with Jim Carrey playing a self-centered ass who got to play God for a while. Mediocre movie, but I got to thinking, what if you or I got to play God?

Since we're playing "What if?" we need a limit so that no one goes on forever. Therefore, you only get to do three things. What three things would you do? (I'm a procrastinator, so I'm still thinking about what I'd do.)

1. 1. Human scale society
There is a balance to nature, and there is a thing as too dominant.

2. No more clocks. If we weren't so damn caught up in time, we couldn't say we "only" lived 40 years. Where does that end? When will we "only" live for 173 years?

3. No more mass production. If we're all really individuals, we can make our own personal crap.

2. Here is what I'd do..............
......

The first thing I'd do is actually two things at the same time. First, I'd return the Constitution to what it was before Idiot Boy and I'd require a return to paper ballots immediately - reasons obvious........

I'd repeal every tax cut the rich have and switch as many of those tax cuts to the middle class as possible........reasons obvious

I'd secure our borders and slap anyone hiring illegal aliens with a $1 million a day fine for every day they employ an illegal alien. That could add up to some serious money so all that money would go to pay down the national debt until these corporations learned their lesson.

Personally, I think that would straight things out.

4. Here are mine...
1. Every Republican politician in the country would be beset with a case of extreme, and incurable flatulence.

2. Every Democrat would decide to get out and vote every election day.

3. Some bright high school kid would find a way to make cold fusion actually work, and save the planet from global warming.

5. There is no god. This mindless belief in that which cannot be seen
or proved (suspension of belief) continues to drive mass slaughter and suffering, just as it has for centuries. Its time we move beyond 'faith'.

9. ..and thanks for playng along
Here's mine: I would not end world hunger, diease, or man's cruelty to man. I would only do one thing: remind each one of us that we are responsible for each other. It's our job to do away with hunger, poverty, disease, and evil... but first we have to give a shit.

How have YOU "payed it forward" today? It's not too late to start.

8. I'd rethink the whole hormonal thing
for humans. It is skewed in both genders and leads to major problems.

I would make energy increase with age rather than decrease.

We'd all speak the same language.

1.Appear and tell the Christians they are wrong
2.Appear and tell the Muslims they are wrong
3.Found a faith that takes care of the poor, the sick, the old, and works to make all people better. A faith that is not a public one, but one-on-one with me. Think Christians but who follow the bible.

For fun

14. with unlimited power
1. Hack all the worlds banks and channel all the money in the world into paying off every single debt in the world. i.e. set the world to a zero balance in all banks. Then destroy all of the banks records (including hard copies) so it can't be reversed.

2. Make clean water a sure fire cure for cancer/aids/lukemia and anything else I can think of.

3. Render every nuclear weapon in the world inert.(i.e. wont blow up ever)

Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 09:10 AM by SpiralHawk
Republicons claim to be conservative, but they are lying. They just Borrow and Spend like drunken sailors, while trashing the environment that our children and grandchildren must depend upon for survival.

So-called conservatives are actually dangerous and amoral radicals in suit-coat disguises.

22. Give everyone the infallible ability to detect a lie
That should take care of MANY MANY problems right there.

Consider the other Jim Carey movie "Liar, Liar" except in reverse - instead of being unable to lie, being able to know when others are lying. This would even be compatible with "free will" because you can still lie, its just that others will know when you are doing it, and in fact it expands "free will" to "free INFORMED will".

Im still thinking about the rest, because the more I think about the first one, the less it seems other things need to be changed specifically.

25. three?
Destroy the moral disorders in a significant amount of the population and restore their empathy, and shame so they can function without hurting others,I'd destroy the problem of conduct disorder, psychopathy, sociopathy, narcissism, and authoritarianism at it's source.

I would end ALL rape pedophilia abuse and child abuse I'd just destroy that desire to do such things in certain peoples hearts and give them coping mechanisms that do not harm anyone.

Lastly I would give people the ability to totally control their own bodies at their own will. To change your own flesh and shape shift it anyway you like,Sick? no problem make it un sick,Fat make it thin, not happy with your nose? Morph it wanna be a cat,be one.Hungry well you don't need food it can wait.Trauma scars ?well erase them.Wanna fly? well grow some wings than.

26. Three things I would do:
1. The birth rate would drop dramatically; one in every 1,000 women would conceive no more than twice until their were hardly any people left on the planet. The physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthiest would conceive, or would have viable sperm.

2. The golden rule would gain teeth, and act immediately. Those who did harm would be those who experienced harm, whether it be to their health, finances, natural disaster, accident, etc.. Those who spent their time and energy doing good would prosper.

3. I would clean up the environmental mess we've made and restore the biosphere.

28. I like "what if". Three to go.
1. Had I the power, I'd fix the weather. No more droughts, floods, hurricanes, tornados etc. etc. Rain would be pure and replenish the earth.

2. Everyone on the planet would speak and understand every language.

3. Man's inhumanity to man would be eradicated.

30. My top 3:
1. Raise the minimum wage up to the level of a true living wage. I'd start at $12.50 an hour and provide quarterly cost-of-living increases on that wage.

2. Completely ban the republican party from American politics just like the Germans banned the national socialist party.

3. End all wars of conquest & wars for resources.
