CUT to the Chase and let the Iraqis RUN their country! |
|
Time for us to go. We deposed their evil dictator. They have had free elections. They have a government in place. Now is the time for all good Iraqis to come to the aid of their country. Just like we did after the American revolution. The Iraqi people must manage Iraqi freedom. Stop the occupation! The alternative to Cut and Run is Quagmire and Ruin (of the American economy).

1. Time to take the training wheels off. Iraq, it's all yours. Good luck. |

2. we HAVE to stand down so that they will stand up. |

Really. They are the only ones who can decide if they can form a coherant country out of disparate elements and rid themselves of outside insurgents and agitators.

3. As long as we're there they'll never take charge of their own country |

It's too easy to rely on others.

My reply to "cut and run" is "Let Iraqis govern Iraq."

5. As Chomsky would point out, we (in the US sense of "we") won't |
|
let that happen because they'd probably align with Iran against Israel.
Not to mention control of all that black gold. Fourteen bases and our largest embassy, and a privatized economy. We're not leaving, it is the neocon prototype for the future, and our empire probably demands it. Maybe this will be our Afghanistan, and bankrupt us, and dissolve the US. The corporations would have it easier dealing with smaller state or "new regional" governments since the federal regulations can still be a pain.
