Soldier's leave in Cape delayed by mortar attack
******did the Media report this yet?..........................

Vincent P. Branchetti's return to Southwest Florida International Airport for a two-week leave from Iraq has been delayed until Saturday.

Branchetti, 33, of Cape Coral, is returning home to see his father, Vincent A. Branchetti, for the first time since the 59-year-old had quadruple bypass surgery in May.

The elder Branchetti, also of Cape Coral, said this morning that his son's flight from Baghdad International Airport to Kuwait was delayed about 10 hours Thursday because insurgents attacked the airport with mortars.

By the time it was safe for Vincent P. Branchetti, a sergeant first class in the Army's Special Forces, to leave Baghdad, he missed the scheduled flight to the United States from Kuwait, the elder Branchetti said.

So he is scheduled to arrive in Southwest Florida at 12:36 p.m. Saturday.
