Why is Ed Schultz still on AAR stations??? |
|
He's not much of a liberal. I just heard him say he favors the government looking at bank records as long as there is oversight.
That may have been OK five or six years ago, but now there is no one to trust with oversight. Now, it's non-negotiable, rights are absolute. Absolute freedom, absolute privacy, none of this giving it up for safety crap.
Anybody who still labors under the illusion that all this terrorism and al-qeada bullshit anymore than fabrications of the CorpMedia is just being willfully ignorant.

He should have known there's no oversight. It's the hallmark of this congress. So why would he even mention any approval knowing that fact? How many people half-listen to radio and just heard his approval and not the caveat? Clever little Republican he is, imo.

From day one he blasted her about "breaking the law," he was worse than Rush.
He is a Republican in my book.

It was a ROVE led distraction that went to the heart of the race issue.
Of course that got everyone taking sides and Ole Ed just bashed away.
I wonder what he had to say when they dismissed the case?
Nothing I am sure.

He should just have a hunting/fishing sports show and leave politics to people with fully formed brains.
As I said from day one with this guy.........It's all about Ed, Ed is an opportunist.....period

called spying. The whole rest of the world has to put up with USA looking at whatever if wants. And we live with it. What else can we do? We can't vote. Did you know that the Patriot Act passed a law saying that all american corporations overseas.. or software corporations whose products are used overseas.. ahh..that would be on almost all computers.. have to hand over whatever records the US government requests.. and then not talk about it? And the rest of the world doesn't really care. And what would we do anyways.. get rid of apple or microsoft on our computers? Yeah right.
So.. why not.. with oversight.. with warrants..allow your government to look at records of people in your country. It is your government after all. At least there is oversight. Fight for that!!! Fight to keep it. Cause your lucky! You have some say.
And remember.. they don't care about you or me. They are busy with Oil billions going to jihadists.
That is actually where the fight should be.. rather than in Iraq!

Sometimes I think people here hate Ed Schultz more than Sean Hannity! I think "Big Eddie" is very valuable to have on our side. He reaches out to "red-state" voters that might not listen to the other progressive hosts. He is also a former conservative who saw the light. He has been on the other side and knows how they think.

|
He's unfailingly polite to his callers (he listens to them--other hosts should learn a thing or two), has a wonderful soothing radio voice, and is so damn smart it's a joy to listen and learn from him.
But I still like Ed Schultz and I think he may do us a lot of good in the long run. There's a whole segment of the country who need someone like Ed to tell them it's okay to be a liberal. Sure lots of us disagree with him on lots of issues--but isn't it both the strength and the weakness (so it's not fair to point fingers at Ed) of the Democratic Party that we don't all march in goosestep together?

There's no such thing as an AAR station. Affiliates, yes. But no station is completely owned by AAR. Not even the flagship station in NY which dropped Malloy in favor of the Satellite Sisters (idiots!).
AAR is just a network that has a main line-up of live shows. Stations can pick and choose what they want to carry or broadcast on time delay. In addition to the main lineup, they syndicate Hartmann and Maaron. I don't think this was the original intention ... I think they wanted stations to carry the entire main line-up. But that didn't happen for whatever reason. For all practical purposes, I think all AAR shows are "syndicated".
Stations are independent. They can choose to carry a show or not. Many carry Al Franken live, but not Randi Rhodes -- they prefer Schultz live for whatever reason. A few stations carry Hartmann live, but not Franken.
IF you don't think Schultz is any good, complain to the station. If enough people do it, they may drop him in favor of a more liberal show, like Randi's.

they needed the revenue and sat. sisters had the money. they promised Malloy that they'd try to put him on another station in NY. Don't know if it's happend yet.
Malloy is VERY VERY good. It's a shame more people don't know about him or that so many affiliates don't carry his show. I'd like to see Springer tossed out, and Malloy take his place. Or some other shift in the lineup to put Malloy in a better time slot -- he deserves more exposure.

22. Yes, AAR has nothing to do with Ed Shultz |
|
It's the local stations that decide to air Ed (and inevitably alter the station's broadcast schedule from the "base" AAR schedule). I haven't listened to the local AAR affiliated station in about 4 months, but I always liked Ed. Sure, he wasn't a die-hard liberal. But he seemed to be the kind of guy that could pull a significant number of football/hunting/fishing types away from the dark-side.

willing to listen to a more moderate POV than is offered by the likes of Limpballs, etc.
Unfortunately, Eddie doesn't always do his homework. I heard him interview Howard Kurtz one day, treating him as a credible journalist instead of a rw hack. He seemed surprised by Howie's pro-Bush Crime Family answers.

Between mindless on the right and mindless on the left lies mindless in the middle.
OK, I don't mean that. I actually like Jerry Springer, he's just not as sharp as the rest of AAR.
