Please critique my LTTE on Bill O'Reilly
What is it with Bill O'Reilly of Fox News and his love of fascism? First, he twice called out US soldiers in World War 2, accusing them of horrific war crimes that were actually committed by the Nazis. He did not apologize to the dead US soldiers or their families. Now, he has twice called on the United States to use the same tactics as Saddam Hussein in suppressing the civil war in Iraq. Wasn't White House Reason #326 for invading Iraq was that Saddam was a bad man who must be stopped and shouldn't America aspire to be better than Saddam? I will not watch The O'Reilly Factor again until he apologizes to the memories of American soldiers victimized by the Nazis at Malmedy.

(please note, I have never watched The O'Reilly Factor... just thought it was a good finish to the letter)

"I have never watched The O'Reilly Factor... just thought it was a good finish to the letter."

Oh yeah, some right wing acquaintance asked me, "Do you know that Bill O'Reilly is 6'6" tall?" I retorted, "Damn! I didn't know that they could stack shit that high. :woohoo:

Yes, here here ---> a stellar ending INDEED! :applause:

It's good ~ short and sweet and to the point.

Only a couple of small things I'd change, marked by asterisks below:

What is it with Bill O'Reilly of Fox News and his love of fascism? First, he twice ***accused US soldiers in World War 2 of *** (I would change this because "calling out" seems to be a talk board term that some newspaper readers may not understand) horrific war crimes that were actually committed by the Nazis. He did not apologize ***to the families of the dead U.S. soldiers whom he shamefully disrespected*** (I reworked this because you can't really apologize to a dead person, but you can apologize to those affected by his crap, and because I'd hammer the shamefulness of his words as often as possible) Now, he has twice called on the United States to use the same tactics as Saddam Hussein in suppressing the civil war in Iraq. Wasn't White House Reason #326 for invading Iraq ***(remove redundant "was" here) that Saddam was a bad man who must be stopped and ***that America should *** (edited for grammatical consistency) aspire to be better than Saddam? I will not watch The O'Reilly Factor again until he apologizes ***for his outrageous slander upon the good names of *** (edited for consistency re: my previous edit above: i.e. he can't apologize to dead people or to their memories but he sure as hell can and should apologize for his remarks to their families and to the world at large for getting it so dead fucking wrong) American soldiers victimized by the Nazis at Malmedy.

Edit:

So, without the commentary, it would read thus:

What is it with Bill O'Reilly of Fox News and his love of fascism? First, he twice accused US soldiers in World War 2 of horrific war crimes that were actually committed by the Nazis. He did not apologize to the families of the dead U.S. soldiers whom he shamefully disrespected. Now, he has twice called on the United States to use the same tactics as Saddam Hussein in suppressing the civil war in Iraq. Wasn't White House Reason #326 for invading Iraq that that Saddam was a bad man who must be stopped and that America should aspire to be better than Saddam? I will not watch The O'Reilly Factor again until he apologizes for his outrageous slander upon the good names of American soldiers victimized by the Nazis at Malmedy.
