2. This is disappointing, and it seems like it is happening more and more |
|
I wish Democrats would unite and band together instead of cannibalizing each other! If I lived in Connecticut, I would support the winner of the Democratic primary, whether it was Lieberman or Lamont!

3. George put Durbin in a difficult spot- he was trying to nail Durbin |
|
into saying that he would support Joe, even if Joe lost the Dem primary and ran as an independent. Durbin refused to take the bait- I thought he did pretty well considering, iMHO.

4. I agree , the other way to look at it is |
|
Durbin refused to say he would support Joe Lieberman as an Independent. It is extraordinary for a sitting Senator to back a primary challanger against a sitting Senator of his party. Durbin leaves open his options if Lamont wins the primary.

12. Not difficult at all. |
|
He just had to say he would support the winner of the Democratic primary.
There is no other answer.

6. They are leaving it open about what to do if Lieberman loses the primary |
|
And they are on their hands and knees praying it doesn't happen.

7. Why didn't he just say |
|
"I am confident Joe will win, but I will, of course, support all the Democratic Primary winners across the country."
The Republican Senator (i forgot his name) said something to that effect about a Republican primary challenge, and George did not pursue it. But I'm sure the incumbent who is being challenged did not come out and cry like a baby that he was going to run independent, like traitor Joe did.
Durbin should have been ready for this, there is no excuse for not being prepared with an appropriate answer.

8. Will you support Lieberman if he wins? If YES, then you are right to |
|
criticize Durbin. If your answer is NO, then how are you different from Durbin?

14. The issue is will he support Lamont if he wins. |
|
That is the issue.
As far as me supporting Lieberman if he wins, as much as I support him now and any other republican in democrat clothing.

9. This will divide the party. This is saying we don't get a choice. |
|
Schumer is not committing either, sounding like he might support Holy Joe as an Independent.
This is just wrong. It is dangerous. They should all say they will support whoever wins the Democratic primary.
No wiggle room here.

11. The DNC has spoken loudly and clearly on this issue. |
|
The DNC will support the winner of the primary. Just that simple. Jim Dean posted a statement at DFA that he and DFA will support the winner of the primary.
It should not even be an issue.
