Lou Dobbs ??..
So what's the story with Lou? It looks like he's a conservative who has had enough. He's slammed the chimp over Katrina, Dubai, Spying, Torture, Immigration. I would almost think he's a kindred soul.

Leopards don't change their spots. What am I missing?

1. I think Lou claims to be a Libertarian. For SURE he hates the overspendin
and intrusion into peoples lives that THIS admin has done!

I don't know a lot about libertarians, but he sure has argued a lot in favor of supporting an American middle class, and all the time he says this Admin is destroying what middle class there is left!

I can't say that I agree with him all the time, but I can't think of anyone who I agree with ALL THE TIME!!!

He's a very smart guy, and he knows how to argue and win! I like that too!!!!

4. Yeah, he's a libertarian, and not our friend if...
we take back DC, but at least he's an honest one.

We can handle honest Libertarianism or Conservatism if it sticks to the issues and doesn't stoop to the mudslinging, character assasination and take no prisoners warfare the current Republican leadership has gone for lately.

5. I know WAY too much about Libertarians, myself...
I don't really mind their 'stay out of my business' attitude. I've got a little of that myself. But I don't like their bootstrap levitation, voodoo-economics crap very much either. They trust big business more than 'big government,' which makes absolutely no sense to me.

2. It's my opinon that Lou.....
has decided to be an American first and a Republican second. I think he's trying to do what's best for America. Just my opinion. We need more to step up and do what is right and not just follow party lines like our Senate and House are doing.

6. I still see spots on him that could pop out any minute.

I don't trust the guy, not one bit.

7. Lou is not
a Libertarian.

If you google Lou Dobbs "lifelong Republican" you'll find plenty of confirmation, including it being said to him in interviews. (Like how is this coming from a lifelong republican?)

But that had to do with his conservative policy beliefs, not to party loyalty. He's conservative, not partisan.

I have read in several places that he has said he is now an Independent because both parties have disappointed him. That could be true. He is disgusted by this administration.
Unlike many Republicans Dobbs has been complaining about American corporate irresponsibility and greed for many years. To him conservative values are about what is best for the country, which is mostly middle class, not the rich and the corporations.
So he hasn't changed his spots at all

8. I've been confused about Lou too. At this point in the game, I'll
take anyone's criticism of shrub - I don't care where it's coming from. Libertarians are all about no intrustion from government in their lives at all. They despise social programs because it is using their tax dollars, which they don't want to pay either. I liken them to social darwinists...."I've got mine, fuck the rest of you".

That's my impression, my apologies if I offend any libertarians here with my interpretation.
