I have spent a great deal of time interacting with right-wingers online of late. There are a lot of things that they say and believe that I find stunning in its inaccuracy or general self delusion.
One that I especially enjoy is when they answer questions about the effect of Bush's catastrophic poll numbers on the November midterms.
Over and over they say (as if they are all wired right to FOX news):
"George Bush isn't running in 2006. Does not matter."They make the same statement when Bush's problems are discussed as having an effect on the 2008 races.
It usually gets phrased as
"I guess people will not be reelecting George Bush in 08."They think it is funny actually.
Good! They are apparently too stupid to understand what the voters will,
THE CONGRESS IS BUSH'S TOOL TO KEEP DOING DAMAGE FOR THE REST OF HIS TERM.
People are not getting ready to leave Bush's rubber stamp in place. The are fed up with these policies. They are fed up with paying the consequences and watching the aftermath.
Any winger that trivially dismissed these polls is doing us all a favor. Let them breed their complacency. Let them miss the gathering storm until moments before the godammed lightening strikes.
Their delusion and HUBRIS is stunning and it is a weakness to exploit!
