HaHa. Wing-nut gets spankin and storms off the set....Crooks & Liars
Notice how he hurls insults and calls the other guy "toots" and THEN storms off the set because he wants to have a "civil dialog."

7. Who won't they be asking back?
Bernie Ward, the smacker, or Chris Baker, the smackee? 'Cause knowing the popular media, they'll probably decide that Ward's just too bellicose, and that Baker's the kind of face and voice of moderation that's just perfect for his own show where he can control the microphones, camera angles, and everything else.

But yeah, Ward cut up Baker's mean little heart and fed it to him piece by teeny tiny piece. Baker probably left so quickly because he had to change his shorts.

41. I dunno, didn't Faux give Robert Novak a contract?
I figured after he intoned "This is bullshit" and stomped off the CNN set that Mr. Novak would be persona non grata on the public airwaves, but Faux decided he was worth giving a contract to. The same sort of "logic" would probably land Mr. Baker a permanent gig somewhere, I'm guessing. And he'd use the clip with Ward as proof that he doesn't kowtow to any left-wing shenanigans when they try to foist their "liberal" facts on him or try to make him answer a question when he'd rather be name-calling. The promo practically writes itself:

Chris Baker doesn't answer inconvenient questions.

Chris Baker calls liberals "Toots."

Chris Baker makes fun of his opponent's appearance.

Chris Baker would like to get in the same room with those liberal troublemakers.

Chris Baker doesn't resort to name-calling or threats.

Chris Baker. Nightly on Fox!

5. FUCK--that asshole said "Well, I only have ONE CHIN...."
What a childish dickhead. That was FANTASTIC!!!!! And Ward got the LAST WORD, without interruption, because that guy lost his temper and COULD NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!! He KNEW if he said "the government should decide what's printed" that he'd open himself up as an advocate for a police state....just like China, eh????

That was priceless...the debate tactic reminded me a lot of BARNEY FRANK, who distills issues down to a simple "choose A, or B" and then needles until his opponent makes an ass of himself!!

6. Everything they do is calculated
I wonder if the right wing moron playbook calls for this. If a liberal is kicking your ass on TV and you have no way of coming back, just leave, the lemmings will love you and pump their fists and cheer you on. Better to be a coward then proven wrong.

"Better to be a coward, then proven wrong." Is that why so many flag wavers choose to not sacrifice one red cent then to enlist?

9. That clip shows us the infantile, immoral bullies that we're dealing with
who are running our country and most of our radio/media conglomerates.

They want everyone to do it their way or they'll make life hell for those who don't.

Likewise, they'll take their marbles and go home because they can't tolerate the truth and/or any form of reality that upsets their illusions.

Kudos to Bernie Ward.

11. True Story- I had Bernie Ward as a Religion teacher!
Back in the early 80's I went to a Catholic High School in Santa Rosa, California. My Freshman year I had to take a required religion course (each grade had to). Bernie Ward was a priest back then, and was my teacher for the class. I don't remember much in the way of politics but he did make the religion part interesting, and he really riled up the freshman class that year during the annual canned food drive. We ended up kicking the other classes butts in that one (first time ever). I never thought that he would stay a Priest as he seemed to enjoy being around the co-eds a bit too much. Nothing unseemly, just that he seemed to like interacting with them a lot more than the other Priests there. He left after my first or second year, can't remember, and turned up later on the radio.

Good to see him kicking some puke butt! We need more of this.

31. Well this was 26 years ago
So I don't remember a lot of details. I remember him being a good teacher (certainly the best one I had in religion classes) and inspiring. Sort of like a good coach. He did challenge the students to do better and to think. He was not unkind, though. I don't think he talked as fast then , but years of being on the radio will hone that. The odd thing is that I don't remember any politics coming up, even though that was the year Reagan was first elected. Mainly it was about following Christ's teachings and helping the poor. He took the New Testament seriously (which may seem odd but there are many Catholic Priests that lay lip service to the NT). There were other Teachers there who were much more outspoken lefties. Given what happened I wished that I had kept in touch with him after he left the School. I should e-mail him some time and see if I get a response...

out-debate Ward.....(mostly because Ward's a liberal and his positions are the right ones)...Ward is fierce....I love listening to him attack Bay Area republican callers, who've been listening to Michael Savage and begin to mouth the same thing they just heard from Savage... Ward immediately goes in for the attack and rips them a new one...no passive liberal here...Big Bernie is a fucking shark ...not waiting to attack....looking to attack!!!!

21. I think Bernie should have added
that it's not that Chris/RW-ers want the government to make decisions on what a newspaper can publish based on national security, it is that they just want the Bush administration to make those decisions. Because you can bet that if Bill Clinton had done the same thing, they would be flipping their wigs about it. But since the GOP control government right now, then it's fine for government to make these decisions.

Nevertheless, that was very satisfying. I love it when a RW bully gets his (or hers).

32. The wing-nuts are so used to having it one-sided, always in their favor...
Always two or three republicans trouncing on a Dem and usually a republican talking head to help the push the republican points.

When it's a one on one match, the republicans ALWAYS talk loudly while the liberal is making their point...because republican NEVER answer the questions, when you keep asking them to answer the question and they don't want to because it'll point out their obvious fascist government beliefs they get pissed and start calling names and walk off....they are so used to the having their way and a gang of republicans jumping on a Democrat!!!

One on one...Just keep pressing the republicans to fucking answer the fucking question and they go nuts!!
