"Bush is intelligent and interested" vs. "He gets bad info from advisors" |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 12:30 PM by Marr
How do freepers reconcile those two positions? I just don't get it.
Bush is either a sly, intelligent man who knows what he's talking about and belongs in the Oval Office, or he's an unengaged, disinterested moron who cannot be bothered to learn about issues for himself, and only knows what his advisors tell him.
There is no third option, but I see Freepers flip back and forth between these two versions of Bush, depending on what subject is under discussion.

I guess if they could do that, they wouldn't be Republicans.

He's a genius who happens to be lost in a pea-soup fog - who can only find his way out to give Medals of Freedom to the people running the fog machine.

3. There is a third option... |

... groupthink, probably encouraged not so much by Bush's lack of intelligence, but, rather, by his lack of curiosity about ideas and his lack of open-mindedness--he's surrounded himself with people who will reinforce his biases. There are enough glimpses into his earlier years to strongly suggest that he has more than his share of biases....
edit for syntax.

|
he has clearly stated that he is the president and answers to nobody
he has clearly stated that a dictatorship is fine so long as he is the dictator
evidence from his own mouth to prove that he clearly thinks and belives he is above the law
next question?
