We should not cut and run!
Here is the argument to leave Iraq that will make the BA spin like a top with no way out.

==============================

We should not cut and run. We should leave because the mission has been "accomplished".

1) A despot (Saddam) was removed.
2) A democratically-elected government has been installed.
3) The threat of WMD's has been determined to be nil.
4) An army of 240,000 men is now operational.

Wasn't that the plan? What am I missing? If we accomplished what were the stated goals, then why do we have to stay?

3. Actually you are right...the mission has accomplished the original
goals set by this failure of an administration....If the American people don't demand that this ends the administration will continue to change reasons why we are there...

4. Well, damn. You've nailed it, haven't you? I'm DAMN serious.
Now, If we could get all the Democratic congresspeople and Senators to repeat what you said, word for word...

You've made one of the strongest points I've ever seen here on DU. And that's no lie.

5. The Iraqi Government must also
be Capable and become a full fledged Anti-Terror State standing shoulder-to-shoulder with US. Thus the admin will always be able to claim the Iraqi Democracy isn't capable yet and our continued presence to ensure it's stability is required...

For recent examples please see: US bases in Okinawa and US military presence in the PIs...
