Anyone just hear Peter King (prick-NY) on Cooper?
Cooper asked why the SWIFT focus was on NYTimes and not WSJournal. King replied, "Because the New York Times are repeat offenders, recidivists, and serial criminals".

Fuck him, assigning criminal history directly to the Times.

2. Funny they weren't saying that when Judith Miller was
writing the administrations Propaganda....

I gotta think that attacking the media like the Repuglicans are doing now is going to backfire on them.....

4. A lot of "the media" have been saying it is a Nixonian move
Attacking the media was Nixon's ultimate downfall, too, or at least sure helped. Once he knifed them in the back, they stopped covering his and went straight for the jugular. I heard more than one talking head today make the case that this might well be what happens to BushCo over this. That it was a serious strategical error. Supposedly they wanted to get the base fired up, and saying "New York Times" to a right-winger is like saying "abortion." They just wanted a couple of day's worth of ink out of it, but they went over-the-top in fiegning outrage and calling for prosecution -- because now their base wants prosecution, and they have to explain why they don't want to.

This is getting good. Grab some popcorn!

8. Not only that, but people are
finally, FINALLY starting to see these fuckers for who they really are, and the spin ain't working like it used to. There's something about a president going after the press that seems to remove the scales from people's eyes and get their hackles up, American history has shown that to be true time and time again. And even when the press isn't too popular. What's fun is that the more desperate the repukes get, the more ridiculous their spin and the more people start to see through it.

7. Look King has made this shit serious.
I'm not being sarcastic! He's made numerous references to the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Acts of 1798! For Crimmy's Sake!

Add in the tracking of All Communications and Monetary Transactions (Total Information Awarness) and Continous Warfare against Austro-Islam who we've always been enemies with and we're closer to 1984 than I thought!

It's worrisome that this can be happening right in front of us and people seem so oblivious...

10. Bush will shut him down
The White House already said they have no plans to pursue it further. They know they overstepped this one. King will get a call to W's lair soon.
