1. I HEARD that live...he was amazing

I was on the phone today (that same station, out of Milwaukee, and other WI towns) with Alan Wolfe, of Washington Monthly, arguing with him and the host that his book's premise of B* the incompetent is overshadowed by the SUCCESS of their instituting most of their agenda

we really got into it. he thinks they're just basically incompetent hacks who hate government, therefor can't govern effectively, not the criminal psychos (traitors, as other callers described them)

very pollyana-ish approach, very unrealistic

we also argued about the role of media, which I insisted was just as important, if not moreso, than the pug attack on democracy, because the media are COMPLICIT

he said they're getting tougher on him, but I said only a little, and it's way too little and too late

thanks for the reminder...I want to read his article about the book he wrote

I totally agree. That "incompetence" line is utter bullshit.

I was shouting at my radio. Instead of "incompetence" what Wolfe was complaining about is actually the LOGICAL outcome of the neo-con-theocratic agenda. It's all there in "black and white." But Wolfe was the 'typical liberal' and wouldn't go beyond "incompetence." No backbone.
