November 7th is D-Day for the Republicans.. |
|
D-Day is the Democrats Day. That is the first Tuesday in November. The Repubs feel it getting closer and closer as the days get shorter and shorter. One week ago, we had the longest day and darkness is now coming sooner with each passing day. We must have faith that the American people will find the way to the polls on that day. Republicans every thought and move is about that day. They feel it coming. They are going to be kicked out of the people's House and there will be a new morning on November 8th. That is my most fervent wish.

1. We shouldn't have faith |
|
alone that the American people will find their way to the polls that day.
We should play an active part in getting them there.

They better, because it's D-Day for America too. Do we salvage what's left of our democracy and start the long, hard work of repairing all the damage, or do we slip into despotism. And this is not just hyperbole, it's all too real.

(1) Overconfidence leads to great disappointments. Be prepared for the worst and work for the best. (2) Even the best of all reasonable expectations for November 7th isn't but a single step in a very long journey. This country has been sliding into the sewer of fascism/corporatism for over 25 years. It'll take at least as long as that to recover and make progress toward justice, equity, and democracy again. Anyone thinking the task is less than that is sorely deluded, imho.

Everytime I try to talk myself out of this depression, somebody has to jive in with this reality crap... :)

7. I'm thankful every day that I've learned ... |
|
... to be in control of my own happiness. I refuse to surrender it to these fascists - fascists who've stolen so much from me. They can destroy my life but only I have the power to surrender my happiness.
