The U.S.A and Canada celebrate their national holidays together!
With all the strife and turmoil in the world today, I thought I would post this example of the friendship between Canada and the U.S.A.
For many years Buffalo, N.Y. and Fort Erie, Ontario have held an annual Friendship Festival to celebrate your Independence Day, July 4th and our Canada Day, July 1st. I live in a southern Ontario town, not too far from the border and my family has attended these celebrations many times. There are events and fireworks on both sides of the border which are attended by the citizens of both nations. I know there are similar joint celebrations in other border communities right across the continent. Michigan has one, for instance. I wanted to point this out, because we hear so much about the disagreements between nations and I think it is worth highlighting a friendship which has persevered for over 200 years. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY and HAPPY CANADA DAY! :hi: :toast: :loveya:
Here are links to the events in Canada and the U.S.A:

4. Happy 4th of July to you!
I've always thought the "long, undefended border" between our two countries speaks volumes about the way the world could take a lesson from how we get along on this side of the ocean. We have our disputes, but settle them like true friends...without bloodshed! :hi:

5. We are hoping
to move to the Kingston area this summer. Maybe we can get together at next years celebration! I sure hope to go, now that I know it is there!

6. I'm kicking this for the afternoon crowd to see.

I posted this earlier in the morning. I may be over reacting, but I think it is so important that the friendship between our countries be recognized for it's uniqueness. We have gone 200 years without an act of hostility between us! I think that's remarkable!.....:toast:
