28. at $3 a gallon....
....at minimum wage, you'd have to work for about 35 minutes for each gallon you put in your tank to go to work....if you lived far enough away from work and drove your old beater, you soon could be working just for gas to go to work....

....Leary might of had it right, 'turn on, tune in, drop out'....

16. $2.76 in North Alabama yesterday. But that was an anomoly. Every
other station in the area was over $2.70. This was an independent station in the country and they probably just haven't done the mandatory 4th of July thru Labor day vacation driving season "coincidental" rate increase yet. The chain stations in the city certainly have. We filled up 2 cars and a truck and called neighbors to go fill up all theirs, too.

25. If we buy a car wash we can get the gas for $2.99.
Which is a good deal when I need a car wash. Thank heaven I bought me a Prius. I visit the pump about once every 3-4 weeks. This car is a DREAM on gas and my old car had to have Premium gas which would be $3.17 and didn't come close to the same mileage as the Prius. Best move I ever made. Exxon and the Bush Oil cabal can kiss my behind.

and my used beetle-

i can drive A LOT of miles on it.

when hybrids get to be 7-8 years old they might be in my price range.

when i buy a car, i like to pay cash.

27. Just jumped to $3 for premium in Billings...
I paid $2.84 before my local Cenex went up to $2.92 for midrange.

I've officially joined the luxury class now, since being able to fill the 12 gallon gas tank in my Happy Little Green Car once a month has become a luxury. :grr:
