"...and For the People." Not if they can turn us against each other...
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 09:52 PM by Skip Intro
Then it'd just be, "of the people, by the people, for the liars and thieves and traitors"...kinda like it is now.

"We, the People" need to stand up and demand our rightful place over this government and its policies, demand our servants serve the good and the will of the people. We must claim and exercise our role as the final word, the "deciders." It is we, the People. Or its supposed to be, isn't it?

But maybe the ability to express and demand and operate in that role can only be achieved by a united people, not by a divided people. Bill Clinton's speech at the 04 convention, when he said something about the "leaders" on the right being only able to win when they divide the people - those words leap to mind suddenly. I think I just really heard him tonight.

The people, the stated center and ultimate reason for the government to exist and perform, will not operate in that capacity, will not be final judge, final word, final authority, so long as those that seek to take and use that power toward their own twisted ends are allowed to manipulate and divide us.

Our division is their success.

This all occurred to me as an unhappy woman related to me a horrible experience with one of the cell phone companies I represent. She had been treated unfairly and rudely and so much like a number, and as she told me her story. She was told there would be a signal at a rural house she'd just bought, and was going to move to. It was a few weeks until he moved, and her phone worked fine in town. However, she finally moves, and there's no service at her new place. The cell company refused to let her out of a contract without charging her an etf (early termination fee) and she was blown away by the fact that they could force her to pay for something she couldn't use. I was in much sympathy and empathy for her, and wondered aloud myself why that would be. Next thought, cynical as ever, was that the company didn't really give a f**k about her or any particular customer. We are to them what they should be to us. We must prove ourselves to them. We are at their mercy. She asked, "what can I do?"

I mean, damn, she is the customer. They serve her. They would be nothing with the customers. They should answer to the customer, but they didn't. They pretty much said, "this is the way it is, pay us this much money, and we'll leave you alone."

NO!

That's not how its supposed to be, is it? We don't answer to corp America or fascist imposters, do we?

Clinton was right. They only win when we're divided. We the people, I think now.

And then I wonder, what could "we the people" accomplish if we ignored on all sides the politicians and the theater, and came together to demand this nation's leaders, our servants, acknowledge loudly and clearly, that the whole purpose of their actions is to see to it that the tenant of "of, by, and for the people" be re-affirmed.

And then, on some level, we the people need to take a new look around, after we save the nation from the warpig, treasonous thugs now occupying (our) power; take a new look at who we all are, and what we really want to spend our wealth and energy accomplishing. And demanding our will be recognized as the final word.

What?

1. Divide and conquer.
The government has been at it for eons.

Rich vs. poor
men vs. women
teen vs. parent
smokers vs. non smokers
vegetarians vs. the meat eaters
religion vs. the atheist
gays vs. straight
single vs. married
employees vs. employers

This list could go on for miles.

It is a never ending subliminal tactic.

People don't even know when they get caught up in it. Most don't even recognize the campaign when it is going on.
