Poll question: What do you think are the Republican Party's biggest selling points? |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 11:41 PM by undisclosedlocation
They must have some; they're handing us our asses regularly. (Before you compose your withering reply, read the poll replies below; this isn't exactly a pro-Republican poll. In fact, I'm trying to put a couple real ones on just for argument's sake and I'm stumped after the tax one. Oh well.)
Edit: Decided "It's so much fun handing over our patrimony to the corporations," was better than "Spending policies that would embarrass a drunken sailor."

1. Willie Sutton said "I rob banks, that's where the money is" |
|
The Right own the voting machine manufacturing process. Why? That's where the votes are...and the money.

7. Take some Ayn Rand, throw in some fundamentalist shrill preaching, |
|
corporate welfare, corporate bread and circuses in the form of a war, and then throw in some Lincoln. Lincoln Rockwell, that is. Republican = Corporate these days. They just need some scary Democrats to be the enemy for the corporations to throw Jesus, the bomb and Old Sammy at them and voila, one has a Republican, throw in some horrid haircuts and pancake makeup and you have a Republican congressman. Throw in felonious agents of oppression (Abrams, Negroponte, Wolfowitz and Bolton) and one has the Republican ideas of a foreign dept. and international diplomacy. Top off with a cult of fascism rooted in big oil (BushCo, KBR, Halliburton, etc.) and one has the military-industrial complex, which the Republicans have perfected. And we still can't find Old Sammy!

11. I like Lowell Weicker, Pete McCloskey, and Abraham Lincoln. |
|
After that, most other Republicans are dismissable at best.
The only thing I really think they have going for them is that their symbol, the elephant, represents a great animal.
But that's it.
