3. No beef.
Every other preference poll is all white males (occasionally with a little Hillary thrown in).

It seemed like time to balance it out a bit.

2. You might notice a little something different about this poll...
...from most of the others.

Some might even complain.

But nobody would say a word if all the choices were white men, would they?

5. Sure but they will say something if a crazy woman like
Cynthia McKinney embarasses the party by attacking a guard. Good poll :sarcasm:

My vote is for Al Gore

6. Cynthia McKinney is not a crazy woman.
Edited on Fri Jun-30-06 08:22 AM by Yollam
I don't see republicans running away from Dick Cheney and his filthy mouth and itchy trigger finger and calling him crazy.

But if McKinney loses her temper with a fresh guard ONE TIME, she's "crazy"?

Al Gore is not an option. Is it that hard for you to cast a vote for a woman of color, even for a silly online poll?

Sad.

11. The fact is that these people have no chance of winning
If you're asking for an opinon on who to nominate for my party I will always choose Al Gore who has already proven to be a winner and hasn't been charged with assault.

12. That's not really the point of the poll.
In my other post I acknowledge that these candidates are not "viable".

The fact that they are not "viable" in the year 2006, despite the fact that many of them are just as bright and accomplished as anyone else in the democratic fold - and far superior to anyone the repugs might run, is a crying shame.

The fact that they are written off automatically before the process even starts is a shame.

Al Gore is a fine man and I'd be proud to vote for him, but so are many of these women.

And as for McKinney, I like her because she's for real. She has a temper. She sometimes screws up and puts her foot in her mouth. She's probably not going to make it to the big leagues because of that, but dammit, I like her. Her passion and her honesty is for real, and that's way too rare inside the beltway.

9. I do too. Her impassioned plea for SOMEONE from the Senate to contest...

...the certification of the 2000 election was one of the most heartfelt.

I think she has a striking face that shows great depth of character, too.

8. I gave the nod to Moseley-Braun
I liked her when she represented my state. To be honest, though, I'd cast her as a good Pres or VP candidate with an equally strong running mate.

10. It is sad that a Female-of-Color candidacy would probably not be...
...viable yet, at this point in time (unless it was KindaSleazzzy Rice, with the full backing of Diebold behind her).

If she were alive today, I think the late, great Barbara Jordan could have been one of our best presidents ever.
