US Soldier Tackled on Flight After Ramming the Cockpit Door
yikes! I imagine we will be seeing many more traumatized soldiers behaving bizarrely. :(

<snip>

TAMPA, Fla. A frightening incident on a New York to Florida flight, where passengers tackled another flier they say rammed the cockpit door.

And it turns out the suspect is a U-S Army solider who served in Iraq.

This happened last night on a Delta flight to Tampa, where an airport spokeswoman says the soldier is in custody. Authorities are using a state law that lets them hold someone without charges if they pose a threat.

She says the soldier's brother told investigators he has mental problems related to his military service. But the spokeswoman adds there's no evidence he meant to harm anyone on the flight.

Still, one passenger describes the soldier as behaving oddly by tapping people on the shoulder and pointing to his tattoos. About five minutes before landing, he says the soldier got up and ran down the aisle like he was "in a track meet."

1. "there's no evidence he meant to harm anyone on the flight."
Sure, he was going to have tea and crumpets with the flight-deck crew.

2. at least they've stopped shooting to kill
It looks like maybe air security has stopped shooting to kill when people freak out a little on planes. That's progress, I guess.

3. eh was prolly going bunkers on that plane with so many people
crammed around him, kind of a reversed culture shock. He was getting ready to jump out of his own skin, so he took off and landed on the cockpit door. How sad. I don't think he wanted to hurt anyone, he just wanted to escape from his own head/body.

4. So now he was ramming the cockpit door?
There was no mention of that in a story I saw earlier.

What is located at the front and the back of most airliners?

Chances are the guy went to the back of the plane to use the toilet. They were full so he sat in an empty seat. As it became more urgent, he needed to run for the front to use the toilet up front. Just a guess.
But America has been so pumped by FEAR :scared: that we preemptively attack.

7. Generation Iraq
There are going to be some very damaged people coming home.

Even more frightening when you look at how the Bush Admin is under-funding the VA.
