It doesn't take much to expose the dirty secret in this country. The decimated northern rust belt communites, the inner city disasters - with their disfunctional schools, the rural poor. The living standard in this country is going downhill. We may hide in the suburbs, but it won't be long. Eventually the check will come due. We will all go down due to the idiotic fiscal management of this country. Forget about social justice and liberal ideals, this country isn't even doing what is practically best in an Adam Smith Capitalist society.
Tell your Republican friends they are fucked!

1. And tell them that their "free market" is fucked, too |
|
As the income disparity increases, we lose the broad-based decision-making necessary for the success of a free market. A variety of incentives from a variety of people is the key to a well-functioning, capitalist society and when only a few voices are heard, when only their pressure is felt, society fails to invest adequately in things like education, infrastructure and health care, just to name a few. The result will be an undereducated labor force/citizenry, poor transport and communication, and widespread disability. Has any of this already come to pass? A society cannot advance technologically or economically under those conditions and, eventually, cannot compete with more egalitarian societies that conservatives like to label as "socialist" or "welfare states." The great advances this country made between the terms of Hoover and Reagan would not have been possible if only the wishes of bottom-liners held sway. Conservatives speak admiringly of the free market as a "goose that lays the golden eggs" all the while slowly cooking said goose.

associated with our Executive Branch is just a smokescreen. The real religion of this administration is Capitalism without constraints.
I am actually an admirer of Adam Smith, who understood only too well the "dis-economies" of unfettered capitalism. To paraphrase a line from a Woody Allen movie, if Adam Smith came back today and saw everything that was being done in the name of capitalism, he would never stop throwing up."

It's all about money and controlling it. If you haven't try to find the films "God in the White House" and "With God On Our Side" which talks about how the rightwing uses the fundies for nothing but votes and to coverup their real agenda(s) which is getting super rich. And of course people fall for it hook, line and sinker. They'll never do anything about Roe V Wade nor about gay marriage either way. Because than what else will they have to run on? They do a terrible job at major governing in Congress, Senate the White House. Only thing they have is "security" (which in itself is a load of bull) and religion. Look at what happened with Ann Richards, John McCain and John Kerry. They use religion as their last resort for power and nothing more. If George Bush was any sort of Christian he wouldn't even be there in the first place since stealing is a sin according to us Christian's and so is lying.
