Were it not for the vagaries of political life it might well have been Jeb Bush sitting there in the White House invading all those countries, tapping all those phones, making up all those laws - having all that fun.

Instead, because of an aging but wily he-coon, it was Jeb who lost to Lawton Chiles back in 1994, thus throwing off the familial political timetable.

Let's face it, when Jeb Bush walks into a room and they start playing "Swanee River" on a banjo, it just doesn't have the same cachet as a military band launching into "Hail To The Chief."

Before you could say "Iowa Caucus - 2012," The Foundation For the Preservation of Dynasties had $1.9 million in its coffers.

To be sure that's a great deal of money, made all the more interesting by the fact nearly half of it has come from just two sources.
