I was so pleased to see that they had lanny davis and Katrina vanden heuvel, and of COURSE..it's only to have them debate about Lieberman..
So typical... They could NOT have two liberals on to talk about something the administration is doing... They are invited to TRASH each other and two democratic candidates..
Eagerly offering up soundbytes for Karl to use against the eventual "winner".

Democrat!!!!!!!!!
Is Lanny Davis Jewish that he is so strongly defending Lieberman and will NOT let Katrina Vanden Heuvel speak? What is driving him this morning to be so abrasive and RUDE to Katrina?
Add: I just did a search on Yahoo and Lanny Davis is Jewish. End of story - that is why he is defending Lieberman.

2. I'm Jewish and I'm not defending Lieberman or Davis. |
|
Davis is DLC and the amount of opposition research he has on Lamont (true or not) tells me that he is acting as Lieberman's surrogate here. He has completely absorbed the Likud-influenced idea that any criticism of Israel or our method of helping Israel is inherently anti-Semitic. I don't think that invading Iraq has been good for Israel at all, although the right wing there thought it would be, and it's killing us.

3. agree with everything you say, but why was he opposed to the war? |
|
just curious; it puts me in a quandry about him....really objected to most of what he said, btw, especially his condescending attitude

4. I don't know at what point he was against it... |
|
so I can't tell if he is morally opposed or if he just doesn't think it's going well or some other position.

5. Why are you blaming the WJ? Leiberman/Lamont is in the news |
|
mainly because of the debate last week. I'm sure Joe asked Lanny to go on to defend him, and Katrina was there as the opposition.

7. Because they took the easy "two-fer" |
|
There are plenty of people criticizing Lieberman-Lamont. To have TWO democratic spokespeople on TOGETHER ..with NO yapping rightwing interrupters could have been a wonderful hour.. Think of how great it could have been to have two dems talking about the serious issues of the day..WJ routinely has a 3 hour "show" of nothing but conservos, and we have to suffer through their drivel...and the ONE time they have dems without "minders", we are treated to an hour long duel...
What light did they shed on the subject anyway? That's the kind og "debate" that belongs on CT TV.. Only ONE state will even vote in that primary, but the horrific state of overall affairs affects the whole world..
WJ took a cheap shot.. They got an hour long trashing of TWO dems...BY two dems... :grr:

6. I don't watch any more. It used to be daily fare for us but |
|
we can't start every day that way.
Instead, we have Link on and catch Amy. That can be sort of grueling but at least it's reality not spin.
