If you count 5 years overnight.
Lets do a little math here.
Say the average driver drives 100 miles per week. Thats 400 miles per month. Lets just say 500 miles to include a vacation or something out of the ordinary. So 500 miles per month = 6000 miles per year.
Now lets assume that the driver gets 20mpg. Thats 300 gallons.
With gas at $1.00 (Clinton years) thats $300/yr on gas.
With gas at $3.00 (today) thats $900/yr on gas.
So it can be said that is an extra $600 per year per car that every American must now pay.
