John Dean's Conservatives Without Conscience #1 Amazon
and #2 on Barnes & Noble this morning - take that Ann Coulter!

Had to laugh at this review. Alan Rockman is one of the lemmings Dean's book is about who blindly goosesteps right over the cliff with the Neocons and Fundies who hijacked the conservative movement!

This Guy's Wig Is Flipped, July 11, 2006
Reviewer: Alan Rockman (Upland, California) - See all my reviews

This is John Dean.

This is the guy whose "conscience" caused him to go before the Senate and rat on an administration that he served. No matter what one might think of President Nixon, or even consider that Democratic administrations, FDR's especially, but also JFK's and Lyndon Johnson's spied on whom they perceived to be Domestic adversaries. In JFK's case, that included both tabloid journalists eager to dig dirt but also on Civil Rights crusaders.

But John Dean chose, with pretty Mo by his side, to spill the beans. So what did he do - well, according to the late, great Stephen Ambrose, not exactly a Nixon lover, he helped derail a progressive Republican who had made great strides in a Domestic Agenda that benefited Education, Ecology, and even the Poor. A President who without being an ideologue, was willing to stand by our friends worldwide.

Because Nixon resigned, we got the betrayal of South Vietnam by Liberal Democrats, we got the "Killing Fields" and one million dead Khmer men, women, and children. We got Jimmy Carter, a hapless coward and hypocrite whose decision to abandon the Shah of Iran had far reaching consequences that affect us today, with the spectre of a Nuclear Armed Islamoterrorist Iran threatening the world.

This is what we owe John Dean thanks for. Actually Nothing.

2. Bitter little twerp, isn't he?
Honestly, the lack of insight these men have is astonishing. There is no insight, no empathy, no conscience, nothing that makes the rest of us human.

If he had any clue how he has betrayed himself in this article, he'd change his name and become a hermit.

we're requesting this book at the library - I've asked my friends and relatives to each request it at their local libraries.

7. Publisher's Weekly gave it a weak review -
Who writes for them? The review up at B&N sounds almost petty. I am going to buy it today.

11. They have to try to kill this label, it fits them to well, has no
positive side to it and is easily seen as bad even to the common moron.

8. Another Factually Incorrect Republican Set Of Lies
Bullshit start to finish.

Has it never occured to the man that no President is above the law and that Mr. Dean showed the courage of patriotism all those years ago when he stepped aside from his party and did what was right rather than what was in lock step with those who had already betrayed their public's trust.

9. What is so great about exposing these idiots as the Authoritarians
they are is that I now no longer am pissed by what this guy said. I now see him as a pathetic loser disparately trying to defend his own pathetic need for a father figure or dear leader to make himself feel safe, I feel sorry for him.
I feel like telling poor Alan it's ok we know your a frighten little pussy who needs a big strong Daddy to protect him. But Daddy had to leave and we will protect him from the big bad world, now eat your broccoli and say your prays before you go to bed.
