The movie for people too fucking stupid to realize that eating fast food three times a day for a whole month isn't goof for you!
Seriously, I don't know why the hell everyone's so hyper about this damned movie, when I first heard about it, I was like, "Well, duhhh, what'dya expect, moron?"

2. I guess there are people TFS to realize about fast food, but |
|
I had never seen this before. The guy did a number on his bod with all the fat/crap he ingested. I feel guilty if I eat fast food 2 times a month; I can't imagine doing it intentionally 3x per day. But he has informed people who might now think twice before making that easy stop.

3. Count me as TFS, too. Well, actually I know all that stuff but think |
|
Spurlock did an excellent job of illustrating the effects of a high fat, high carb diet on a body in a very short time. If it makes one single parent stop and think for a minute about what they are putting in their and their children's bodies I think he did a good job.
I hate McDonalds but it is always the first place the grandkids want to head when they visit. They know I don't "do" McDonalds (or too much of any fast food place) but they still lust after those dang meals. I really think the movie would find a receptive audience with older children, pre- and teens or do you think they are TFS, too? Most kids don't see the correlation between those tasty, hot Big Macs, salty fries and a soda and the effects on their bodies. If someone can get it through to them in a graphic way, I say, go for it. The movie was done in a way that anyone can get the message. Even the TFS ones.
I just finished watching it for the first time and think I'll TiVo for so that the grandkids 5 mos - 18 yrs. will have something to think about - especially the 18 year old as she heads off to college this fall.

6. There's a difference between being TFS-- |
|
And not giving a crap about what you put into your body. Don't take your grandkids there if you don't want to, alright? And as for teens, well, they don't think anything can hurt them, even if you show them. Me, I don't eat as healthy as I should, but I don't blame McDonalds or other fast food joints, I blame myself, because I'M the one in control of my own body, not McDonalds.

4. I don't feel bad about that guy at all-- |
|
He knew full well what he was doing to his body, I don't care if he WAS trying to make a point. Nonetheless, I don't thing there are really that many people out there that really don't know that eating too much fast food is bad for you. If they say they don't know, they're lying.

9. I get your point. Just don't understand the snarkiness. |
|
I don't take my grandkids to fast food restaurants but I still think there is a lot of educating that needs to be done to today's kids. From the time they are old enough to sit up there are cartoons and commercials coming at them to eat that junk.
/snark on: And despite your being a font of wisdom of all nutritional info, I do think there are people who don't see the connection and this movie helps to inform them. What is wrong with that? Spurlock did something stupid and risky with his body and his health, but since he did, it would be nice if more people got the message. I don't recall saying anything about feeling bad for the guy (although I probably do, when he took on the venture I don't think he envisioned the terrible effects on his body in just 30 days) but I'm glad he had a camera rolling if it helps just one person.
And why don't you stick with what you know and not deem yourself the speaker for all mankind? People aren't liars just because you think they should know something and say and/or imply they don't. /snark off:

Because I am soooooo tired of people blaming others for their problems! "Hey, It's not MY fault that I'm fat from eating too much fast food! It's the fast food industry's fault!" Bullshit.
