Dynamite causes a scare in Norwood
THE ENQUIRER

NORWOOD - About 20 Norwood families were evacuated from their homes for eight hours Saturday as a bomb squad removed 150 pounds of old dynamite from a neighbor's home.

The Cincinnati bomb squad responded to the 3900 block of Spencer Avenue about 12:44 p.m. Nearby houses were evacuated as the bomb squad removed three 50-pound boxes of explosives from the front porch, neutralized the dynamite and took it away to be destroyed.

Authorities said someone living at the house had moved the boxes from inside to the porch area.

Fire officials said a man at the house was taken in for questioning but it was unclear Sunday whether any charges had been filed.

Um... isn't it against the law to pack your house full of dynamite?

4. What gives. No big deal
I always keep about 1/2 ton of explosives in my basement.

You never know when the neighbors dog needs to carry a stick back home after pooping in your yard.

Just kidding.

Then again, seeing that this was Cincinnati, maybe they were just holding some of Gary Bauer's stash for safekeeping. Rumor has it the boxes had Ken Blackwell's return addy on them.
