How are you going to convince Democrats to get to the polls this year?
Nevermind the hardcore Repubs, the RW X-tians, etc. If you can't convince the Democrats to get to the polls and vote how are you going to convnce the Repubs to vote for the Demos? Has anyone spoken to a Democrat who doesn't care? I have and it's really bad!

because I don't care enough to fight it out in GD or be flamed.

Good luck with getting votes for the party. :hi:

4. Thank you--
I edited it, because frankly I'm not in the mood for so much of the usual drill of posting something honest in GD. Good luck with your thread, though. :)

6. I think you should put it back and let people deal with it.

8. (sigh)...you're probably right...
I just get sick to death of being flamed on this board for telling the truth and calling people on their inherent intolerance.

I will re-edit...but I don't want to hear crap about it. :)

I came to this community with much hope. To many events have occured since I initially joined that have shown me just where many people actually stand with this party--and it disgusts me.

3. Tell People the GOP Might Sell Their Roads and Maybe Neighborhoods Next
for good measure. And I have evidence to support my claim.

5. Eminent domain hasn't scared them much, yet...
but it may help the cause... :)

10. Those of us that frequent these forums
have been aware of this for some time. I know of people in counties not far from me that seemed to think it was something brand new, created to torture them.

If people can't be bothered to stay informed, our tales of eminent domain won't do much to frighten them until it affects them personally.

Sad but true.

Sure, the Dems can use it, I just don't know how affective it will be...

21. If They Don't Have Enough Seats They are Spineless?
They do need seats to fillibuster no? If they don't get the votes to get elected and fill those seats, they may not be able to stop the GOP... no?

23. Sorry... But I Will Tell People That
and it will raise some eyebrows. People need to know what's going on... I see nothing wrong with that at all. Assuming the Dems did nothing is also wrong.

9. Our party needs to stop sounding so ugly....
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 09:35 PM by fumell
We need to frame things in logical, factual terms, stop the "Chimpy/freeper" name-calling, and stop the wholesale blaming of everything under the sun on Bush. He's not going to be on the ballot--and we need to sound like we've taken a logical look at things. The way we talk about them--and frequently to each other here--is so ugly-sounding. It just puts people off more and more. Who would want to vote for us and vote in such negativity?

It's very unattractive and unappealing. Sounding ugly is being ugly. We can't help their ugliness--only our own.

14. Drive them.
Volunteer with your local Democratic Party to drive people to the polls.

Volunteer with your local Democratic Party to walk precincts.

Volunteer with your local Democratic Party to lick stamps.

Volunteer with your local Democratic Party to help man phone banks.

etc.

Do you get the idea now?

16. Most of the Democrats I know not only care and they also vote.
Perhaps it's because we live in a dominant Republican area and are repressed.

24. We can impact our local areas but the DNC and other Democratic
organizations need to pull their heads out of their asses and find a marketing company that can put together decent commercials, ads, banners etc....they have failed over and over again....to get a consistant message out to the country...

Many people mocked the rapper PD, Puff Daddy when he came out with the the slogan, "Vote or Die" seems to me that the slogan was prophetic....it's simple and yet effective especially after the last 6 miserable years...

We can argue about all of our independence and our different opinions etc but it doesn't mean shit if we can't win....That's the bottom line what are we going to do to win...

That's my two cents...oh what am I doing....I do what I always do....on my dog walks....when I am hanging out with friends...."Say did you know that.....(whatever topic I am hot about)and usually they go oh wow...really"
