It's embarrassing but what can you do ?? |
|
For the last two or three days, the President of the United States has appeared to be half-asleep or half-drunk? He has acted totally unappropriately on the world stage. Where are his handlers? He should not be left alone.
With a hot buttered roll stuffed in one jaw, he attempts to carry on a conversation with the leader of Britain, Tony Blair. Like a high school jock, he comes up behind the leader of Germany and gives his "special" massage. Then he is put in his proper place when he tries to criticize Russia for their "lack" of democracy. The leader of Russia gets smiling approval from the audience when he tells the leader of the US that he'll pass on the democracy that has been installed in Iraq.
These are not the best of days for the President of the United States. When he is not caught on tape saying "shit", he is shown on tape chewing his food like an old hound dog chewing on a porkchop bone. He has not reflected well on America. And he said those other leaders "talk too much"...

I can't watch or even hear his voice without throwing up.
It's great for a weight loss program, but,

It may sound cynical, but all the better for us. We've been called "Moonbats" (the new derogatory nickname for non-RWers) for saying that Duh-bya's a 'moran' and a drunk. Now we have tangible proof.
You're right though, Kentuck. Duh-bya has helped to make this country look bad since he was "elected" President in 2000. It's only now that Duh-bya's stupidity (and, quite possibly, his mental instability) is becoming more apparent - the elephant in the room. Ringo

It's a bitter reminder of exactly what a majority of Americans supposedly elected to office twice. I don't blame you at all. It's just that it's getting harder for Duh-bya to behave and/or his royal court to hide his wacky behavior from the American people. It might be useful. Ringo

4. It's because he is a fake politician, like most Repuke scum. |
|
They didn't win in 2000, 2002 or 2004 and probably won't in 2006 or 2008. All they can do is throw money at certain people and hope they will betray America. Evidently it seems easy to do. Just look how the FBI talked some Miami folk to commit terrorist activities. Our country is very weak and threatened by a fascist group, I hope we survive.

allowing Charlie or maybe Mortimer(Bush) to be his goofy self these days. Perhaps because he's a lame duck president? But isn't that risky for Repukes before the election? There's got to be something more sinister going on.

So it's likely he's started drinking/drugging again--hard, and gotten quite out of control. Hopefully he'll screw up so badly in the near future no backpedaling or covering up will be able to bail his sorry butt out. Then there will be no choice but for him to step down.

14. That could be true but.... |
|
I think he knows it doesn't matter. He's just a goofball cowboy doin' his thing.
He'll never be called to account for his actions, and no matter what he does it'll be spun away and reframed and reassessed and then rebroadcast through talking-head drivel on the "news" shows and he will be comforted and coddled as he has been for the last six years. It's like history constantly is being rewritten for him. If, after Katrina, his malevolent negligence was excused away as the fault of local and state folks and FEMA shenanigans, then really anything he does short of a nuclear war will be excused. And I'm not sure that wouldn't see him coming out smelling good ... at least in terms of mass media portrayal.
I guess I wish I was as hopeful as you. :(

10. have you ever tried to control a drunk? |
|
"where are his handlers" indeed, that's prob. unfair to the handlers, in the end, NO ONE can stop the drunk from drinking except the drunk himself
put it this way, you're the waiter dude at the G8 and the president of usa insists you bring him another jim beam and diet cola while the premier of russia and the prime minister of united kingdom frantically whisper "cut the guy off"
what would you do?
well i was in food service and i'm afraid i'd do what was done, i'd tell the premier and the prime that i'd cut the dude off -- and i'd give the drunk his diet coke and jim beam anyway, what else can ya do?
as far as his "handlers," they are not in a position of power and can't stop him drinking, any more than laura could stop him drinking
only the drunk can control his drinking, period, end of sentence

11. I thought you were going to ask about the pig |
|
Even those of us who have been critics of monkey boy for years were slack-jaw in amazed horror that George responded to questions by foreign press about the developing violence in southwestern Asia by repeated mention of a much anticipated pig dinner.
The whole world was watching carefully, waiting to see what the leader of the free world would say about the grave events developing in the Middle East -- and George reacted flippantly, and, has been observed, in a manner that seems detached from reality.
As one of my sympathetic DU correspondents remarked -- one can feel the pain of Russians who watched Yeltsin get goofy in public after consuming more vodka than it took to kill John Bonham.
My read: this/these examples are the most recent manifestations of monkey boy's arrogance, certain of having seized enough power that he can behave like an imbecile without consequences. On the other hand, history years from now may show that he was simply a pure idiotic frat boy barbarian unacquainted with the polite behavior common to civilized societies.
For those of us who are interested in history: not unlike LBJ, another Texan (albeit GENUINE Texan) --eh?
Oh gosh -- the stories about LBJ!
LBJ at least got legislation passed that advanced civil rights for blacks. And let South Asians (Indians/Desis) migrate to the US and become citizens. Had an ambitious plan to make all America aware of the poverty in their midst, and deal with it. Might have been regarded as a successful president if it hadn't been for his stupid miscalculations about Viet Nam.
LBJ -- controversial, yes, but pulled off some progress for impoverished America. Nixon -- controversial, yes -- but made dramatic progress in defusing tensions between the US and China, not to mention stuff like caring for the environment, etc (In the America since 2000, DIck Nixon would be ridiculed as an appeasing hippie liberal America hater.)
Both guys had their meaningless wars based on lies and exaggeration on their laps.
Both are kinda associated with dog abuse: LBJ lifted his beagle up by his ears for a photo, and George W dropped poor little Barney onto the tarmac.
In conclusion, there is no idiocy without consequences. Stay tuned. Life is going to go from "Very Interesting" to "Absolutely Rivetting" soon. And, IMHO -- we'll be back in "Holy Fucking Shit! mode within 8 months.

13. Bush is probably the first American President |
|
to be scorned, looked down upon as an idiot, and viewed with distrust and suspicion by the entire free world. Think how the world use to look up to America as a bastion of truth and for leadership. How sad for America right now and how humiliating for us. We deserve better and we’re going to get better.
