I created two polls, and responses to each want a two state solution |

what dismays me is the comments from some which are so cynical, and so unyielding, and even though they do not represent the majority, they are enough to make me say to hell with everyone, Democrat, republican, Israelli, Palestinian, and every other jerk that can't compromise
lets just blow each other up because that is the direction we are going

DU is currently flush with both anti-semites and zionists. It's also bogged down with right-wing-fundie trolls who are looking to stir the pot more.
The truth is there will never be a solution for Israel/Palestine because this shit has been going on for thousands of years.

2. I was encouraged by the polls |

which seem to reflect (really) the majority of sentiment at DU. May be some of the comments tended to be more strident and hardline because of the tension over the last few days? I think it's easier to continually repeat dogmatic POVs than to really "engage" anymore, at least for those who have been discussing this and reading about it for several days. Just my two little old cents.

3. I hope you are right. It just seems that sometimes the few |

can ruin it for the others, and it just kind of hit me the wrong way
I should probably chill, and look for the best things in people

and believe me, there have been a few times over the last few days that I've been shocked at the nastiness here among members. I myself have found myself reacting badly, if not in posts, then at least emotionally.
Honestly, I'm so glad for Bush's horrible gaffes at the G8. Those threads reminded me of how witty and just freaking hilarious DUers can be, and what I love so much about the forum. That helped me feel a lot better about DU today. ;)
