3. Great post!
Please excuse my ignorance on the matter, but have they taken steps to demolish the SuperDome yet?

Perhaps we should start a petition demanding that it be left in place, as is, with giant "BUSH ADMINISTRATION STADIUM" signs all over it, along with "DANGER - KEEP OUT!" posters.

A "MICHAEL BROWN NO-EXIT EXIT" sign over every doorway might be a nice touch ...

6. Yes, and this comes from BOSSHOG:
I hope he's right!

Important info for residents of Philly, D.C., Frisco, Baltimore and Cincy

Your football teams will be playing "in" New Orleans next year. Dates and places of the games will be announced in January. Officials hope that the Super Dome will be ready for games in November. Prior to that "home" games for the Saints will be played in San Antonio or Baton Rouge. So keep an eye on your teams schedules and make your plans accordingly.

New Orleans will also host the other teams in the NFC South, Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Carolina.

12. Thanks for the info ...
... last I'd heard about it (which was a while ago), they were saying it might not be salvagable, as the damage was so great.

Well, we can still honour Bush & Brownie in some way -- perhaps signs over the entrances that say:

"Welcome to BUSH/FEMA Stadium! In the event there may be an emergency, kindly remember to abandon all hope before entering the facility ..."

25. article in USA Today
http://usatoday.com/sports/2005-12-28-superdome-cover_x.htm

Now, those who run the Superdome hope its quick renovation will make it emblematic of a city rising again. And with that, an assurance that the Saints, who played in San Antonio and Baton Rouge this season, will remain in town.

-snip-

To that end, the state is pushing to repair and reopen the stadium next fall, with the Saints playing their first game there Nov. 1 — All Saints Day.

It won't be easy, and it won't be cheap. Labor and construction materials are in short supply. The cost for repairs has been climbing; the latest figures estimate it could be as much as $153 million. The state also will proceed with some of the upgrades and enhancements that have been discussed for years.

By simultaneously upgrading and repairing, the state says it can save some $13 million. Still, the extras, such as new luxury suites and a separate entry for premium fans, will add $29 million to the bill.

5. W's mother, Babs, thinks group housing is so kind to the "poor"
So much better, than the poor things (looking down her nose and sneering) have it normally. Now back to her decade old relationship with the House of Saud.

Give me strength. He doesn't even have the good sense to put those logos on the sides of those boots so that it doesn't show when he sits? MORAN

In that photo he's the living manifestation of the classic old insult "your mother dresses you funny."

17. Wow that's the first time I've ever seen anything but a look of befuddled
stupidity on Jeb's face. Really! First time ever!

Noelle looks kind of sad in her mugshot. Maybe she needs to spend some time with Bugman so she can learn how to take smiling, happy, mugshots.

English translation, courtesy of BabelFish:

The cigalle and the ant

The Katrina hurricane unfortunately makes me think of the poem cigalle and ant, while the victims of the Katrina hurricane hopelessly worked to save their life in Louisiana, their "valorous president" only thought of playing of the guitar. Who said that president Bush was not a moron?
