So...I turned off MSM...and wouldn't know about Queens Electric Blackout
or St. Lous Devastation with 92 mile per hour winds that toppled hundreds of year old trees and caused shut down of "facilities."

I wouldn't know that ANYTHING was going on in AMERICA if I listened to MSM...because THEIR SPIN is WAR...WAR....WAR...TERRA...TERRA...TERRA until there's NO ONE LEFT working for PEACE and ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION!

They WHORE NIGHTLY...and we are sent off to "COMEDY CHANNEL" for some "REAL NEWS!"

What the hell is wrong here? Ask Howie Kurtz of the MSM's "Reliable Sources" and go onto his "WaPo Blog" to get how "Lefty Dems are UNDERMINING the BUSH POLICIES!

One has to wonder why YOUNG FOLKS are LEAVING MSM in DROVES because they DO NOT REPORT!!!! But some of us aren't comfortable with our POLITICS shoved OFF to COMEDY CHANNELS..we WANT MEDIA for the MAINSTREAM FOLKS who Are NOT...KIDS!!!! (Much as we love our "Newbie Kids" it's like we would want maybe some "FAIR AND BALANCED EVERYDAY MEDIA!"

Is THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

1. Olberman is the only "real news" out there.
I watch Daily Show/Colbert every night, but they only cover a tiny amount of info every night and often skip some of the most important issues.

2. They Are Going To Cover The Non-War Stories On Countdown Shortly
The #3 or #2 story is going to be non-war stuff according to the opening. Including the St. Louis story.

3. An associate in NYC
Has been on a train for three hours... a commute that usually takes an hour tops. I was just on the phone with him and it sounded pretty darn stormy to me. But I guess horrific weather in the good ol' USA takes back seat to terra terra terra anywhere else in the world. Not that I don't want to hear what's going on, but jeez! How about letting us know how our friends, colleagues and family are doing in our own damn country once in a while?

Fair and balanced? Well, it does work in this instance. Usually I'd just say, to hell with fair and balanced! How about the truth for once?

4. I live in Astoria
It's been horrible here. Luckily, my power was restored on Wednesday, but there are thousands who have been without electricity since Tuesday. There are many mom & pop stores, restaurants and bakeries that have lost tons of money having to throw out spoiled food, supermarkets are closed in some areas. The mayor has been here everyday crowing about how Con Edison (this is their fault because of their aged wiring, not the weather) had better get their act together, but so far little has been done. The only one reporting any of this is the local news stations.

5. Thanks for the update!
Dear God! People need to wake up. We need to be informed!

It's hot like crazy in Los Angeles. We don't usually get this weather until very late in summer. I shudder to think what September and October will be like!

Weather is freaky all over... but forget about that global warming junk science crud... :sarcasm:

6. My normal 45 minute commute from Manhattan to Queens
took me about 2 hours tonight. It's been so god-awful commuting back and forth this week its amazing. As for the power outages in northwestern Queens, Clown Edison first said it affected only 2,000 homes but now says that 25,000 homes are affected. Knowing the neighborhoods involved and the fact that many of the homes are multifamily dwellings, that's probably 100,000 people who haven't had working toilets, tap water or any of the other benefits electricity brings.

7. And yet there's no mention of this on national news
I think this is highly newsworthy!

Why do you suppose that is? We can hear endless speculation about a pretty little blond girl who went missing in Aruba because her mommy didn't tell her not to talk to strangers, let alone go off in their cars with them... but we aren't hearing about 100k people who are without the basic necessities in one of the largest countries in the world?
