Does the WH staff SALUTE Bush?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/russert-watch-youre-doi_b_25645.html

I was reading "Russert Watch" on Huffpost since I missed it today and I just love the snark when it comes to MTP. Anyway, the writer was talking about Chief of Staff Josh Bolton and how completely incompetent he seems when I came to this passage:

"And this is supposed to be the guy who's the new custodian of the administration's notorious punctual and professional demeanor. The guy who makes sure everyone salutes President Bush who, by the way, continues to misunderstand his "commander-in-chief" roll -- he's the commander-in-chief of the military, not the American people. Not to be tangential here, but how dare this AWOL frat boy expect a salute from any American civilian."

Could this possibly be true? The thought of people saluting that chimp in a man suit is unsettling to say the very least. How did I miss this if the WH really does have a dictator occupying it? Anyone know anything about this? I know the Chimperor loves himself some uniform , but this is just too much to absorb, if true.

:scared:

3. He's definitely the Commander In Chief of something.
He's got a jacket that says so right on it.

I see he don' need no stinkin' insignia on his epaulettes though. Maybe we could get him some little gold pigs to put there. Or maybe crosses, yeah that's the ticket.

4. ' "commander-in-chief" roll '?
Is that what he had stuffed in his mouth when he was talking at "Yo!, Blair"?

Just joking.

But I have heard that salute thing before.

Insists that everyone address him as "Mr. President".

What a joke.

5. OMG! The CIVVIES have to salute der Fuhrer?
That absolutely sickens me. It's bad enough when the military has to salute him (yes, he IS the CIC of of the military), but to require civilians to salute him, if that is indeed what's going on???? That is beyond the pale. No way, no freakin' way, would I ever salute that man. EVER.

7. He's following a proud tradition
in which the head of state is also decked out in uniform and has a military-like way to be addressed. The Chimp just loves C-in-C, it makes him feel superior to everyone. Anyone know what ranks these guys were: Idi Amin? Sadaam Hussein? Fidel Castro? Marcos of the Phillipines? Mugabe? There are others that strut around in uniform, but until Bush NO American president ever did. These are the leaders Bush is emulating if this salute thing has any truth to it.

8. I am not sure that should be taken literally
Civilians NEVER salute. That is for uniforms only. It may have been "being respectful etc".

Saw a memo a while back from the Chief of Staff of a guy I used to fly with. It was telling ALCON in no uncertain terms not to use his fairly salty call sign to refer to him. Most of us just laughed it off.

9. I think they are afraid he'll forget who he is...
is that why everything he wears is personalized with his name and a title on it? What a joke of a human being!
