4. He was discussing specters deal with the WH and how it would |
|
allow for a blanket "program" that would not need a warrant. He was saying that civil rights advocates were saying that there are laws to stop such a program and that we would be taking a big step backwards (which I agree, we would). I think what he was looking for was dialog about legislation that would basically make null the previous law.
At least that's what I took from it.

Yes, the current laws against spying on Americans is adequate. What is inadequate is the Bush Regime. Their blatant disregard for our Constitution is in itself unconstitutional, morally unsound and completely unacceptable. They need to set an example for the Nation and for the world by following the rules. How can we expect any other nation to follow the rules if we don't?

Shhhh. Don't tell anyone about the law against spying on Americans. The terrorists are listening and you'll give away our national security secrets.

Its not the law that is inadequate - its this administration. Inadequately holding up the Constitution, as they swore to do.
Until this government can keep track of its missing computers and data, missing weapons, and missing billions & trillions of dollars - they need not worry about us poor working stiffs.
Tell me if its read please.
