Poll question: Lieberman race pits moderation versus hatred-politics
(Sorry, DUers. we don't get an even honorable mention from this wingnut)

en. Joe Lieberman, Conn., one of the last "liberal hawks" in the Democratic Party and a leader in efforts to find bipartisan solutions to America's problems, is being targeted for defeat by an emergent new left that's using savage, Internet-based attacks to push moderation out of politics.

If former Greenwich Selectman Ned Lamont beats Lieberman in the Democratic primary, it will represent a signal victory for the MoveOn.org-Michael Moore-DailyKos left wing of the Democratic Party and for vicious name-calling as a political tactic.

The Democratic Party already is handicapped by the fact that its liberal base amounts to just 20 percent of the electorate, while the Republicans' conservative base is 33 percent, according to decades of polling. Both parties must appeal to the remaining 47 percent who describe themselves as "moderate" — which Democrats can't do if the left triumphs.

see it all here - if you can stomach it.

I read this first in today's Chicago Suntimes but soon found that they had too much class to put a link to it on their website.
What a collection of garbage. Mis-statements, half-truths, and lies put together in a nonsensical anti-Lamont tirade that is totally illogical and bereft of any common thread.
This leads to the following question:
Even compared to other crazy moments, is Morton Kondracke

6. Lieberman may well lose the primary.
However, he will still be reelected.

10. And that is a good thing or a bad thing?
As opposed to Lamont winning, of course. The Republican bozo (but I repeat myself) doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

2. "it will represent a signal victory for the MoveOn.org blah blah blah"
No, it will be a victory for Democrats who want a Senator who represents them.

3. Now, now, MrsT. Don't confuse us with facts & truth
That is exceedingly unfair to someone like Mor-Ton.
You really need to practice having more empathy for the mentally ill.

4. Lieberman would be content to take the whole party down if he
is rejected by the voters. That speaks volumes about him. He has no loyalty to no one but himself.

7. It's so much easier to dismiss
Lamont's supporters as crazy, "far left" nutcases than to face the reality that a wide range of people in CT are displeased with Lieberman, including Jewish voters.

He is so far right he meets the left face to face.

11. many years ago, with John McLaughlin,
he was easily flustered, but seemed to make sense with a few comments. Several other people enjoyed toying with him, something that went over his head, (especially McLaughlin) but he was not a freeped out nutcase that he has turned into.
Today, I cannot stomach his faux show. Hmm. come to think of it, I can't stomach ANY faux show.

9. Among other things, this is quite pathetic
Stooping to using the language, tactics and hatred normally heard from freepers is just another sign of how desperate Lieberman, the DLC, and their spin machine is to kick the left out of the Democratic party. Yet come November we're going to be expected to fall in line and vote for whatever so called Dems that they puke up? Screw that! They can't have it both ways, they can't expect the left to be loyal to the party if the party isn't loyal to us. Quite frankly I'm at the point where if the corporatist, DLC Dems don't want us, fine, I'll go somewhere else where I am wanted, and judging from what I hear and read from other sources, a lot of people are going to be leaving with me. See how well your party functions after you've driven the base away.
