That was easily one of the worst John Stewart clips I've ever seen. He totally played softball with here and pretended she was intelligent and had some kind of real point to make. What the hell was that?

He's gotten better since then. I watched about 3 minutes of this and saw her contradict herself as many times, and he failed to call her on it. He'd call her on it now.

I can't watch her either. I have the same visceral urge to kick the screen I have with her little tin Jesus in the White House.

16. Coulter is the perfect "anti-con"

I work with several people who are somewhat uninformed and prefer to watch Fox news and listen to Rush more as a source of entertainment than as a source of real information. They can not defend any of the * administrations actions and actually are set against them for the most part. They have an allegiance to "conservative" over "liberal" ideas mostly due to the influence of the brand of American culture they were raised in.
These days, with the likes of Coulter exposing her hate filled self, my conservative friends are rather embarrassed by her rantings along with RL and the O'Riley guy. They express openly that these people are giving true conservatives a bad image and distance themselves from the views expressed by such hate mongers. In a battle of image the Coulters of the world are forcing many conservative people to rethink there allegiance to one side or the other.
Frankly I think Ann Coulter is the best person the liberals have to expose the underbelly of the uninformed hate filled paranoids and to drive the rational free thinkers out of the conservative movement.

I think they are the ones that have really led to the mess we're in. True conservatives I think would tend to stick to their convictions-and those convictions include separation of church and state and adherence to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. People like you describe are as likely to support Bush even if he goes against their beliefs, both because of the "brand loyalty" you describe and because they really don't care.
